Agyaat Vaas- The Himalayan Retreat
Reviewed August 19, 2013

We went to Agyaat Vaas with couple of friends without kids in August 2013. My husband was looking for some idyllic place in Himachal and came across with Agyaatvaas, contacted Mr. Chouhan, read reviews on net and just finalized the trip. The very first sight of the place just took the breadth away. Though the way to Agyaat vaas was bit tricky, so better come with an expert driver. Amidst the pristine nature it is easy to get lost. The place that gives almost a dream like experience. The rooms are comfortable full filling the basic necessities. The dining area was so basic still the most lively place giving you the feel that its actually someone's home. The staff especially Manohar Singh took all the pains to look after all our needs ensuring each guest has a wonderful stay. The food was awesome. We can plan many more holidays at this place.

I went to Agyaat Vaas with my best friends in august 2013. The place is awesome and the view is mesmerizing. It was my 25th birthday and my friends thought to make it special by baking a cake for me in the hills. The staff helped them so well and the owner Mr.Pratap Chauhan bought a brand new oven just to make it possible.
The view was awesome, mornings use to start late with hot bedteas. There are small treks which we took during the day. Mr. Chauhan arranged for a trainer who took us for the treks and also helped us do mountain climbing and rappelling. Food was awesome... rather tooo yummy and the staff was very very helpful, specially the guy who looked after us Mr. Kapil.
Agyaat Vaas is a must visit for the view, yummy food, beautiful treks and a peaceful trip.

Thanks to Mr. Chauhan and his awesome staff.,. Kudos to team Agyaat Vaas :)

It is through trip advisor we were introduced to Agyaat Vaas and contacted Mr Chauhan. We were a little apprehensive since this was our first trip to North India and we had plans to visit other places in Himachal. Mr. Chauhan helped us right from planning our trip, to hotel , vehicle arrangements, without even asking for any advance payment!!! Hard to come across such people these days!!

At Agyaat Vaas, it was an amazing and out of this world experience with it's pristine surroundings. Mr. Pratap's team ... Kapil , Arun, Aditya, Tanuj, Krishna their chef thanks to you guys for the great service and hospitality. We stayed here for 4 days only, but felt so much at home and were emotional when we had to leave Agyatvaas to our next destination. Only those who love nature and wish to connect with nature, can stay without a tv should go there. A perfect place to unwind and get rid of the stress of city living. Mr Chauhan please let this place be as it is.

We visited along with my 4 year old daughter and aged parents, they thoroughly enjoyed the trip and Mr. Chauhan ensured we were well taken care of . He was very supportive to my dad who has a phobia for heights. Thanks Mr. Chauhan and your guys at Agyaat vaas. We miss you all and shall definitely visit again.

I visited Agyaat Vaas in June 2013 as part of a group of 6 cousins, and I speak here for all of us. This was a fantastic resort and each one of us enjoyed to the fullest.
We took an Innova from Delhi and drove all the way. The route up till Narkanda is a National Highway, and has great roads with no obstacles, and plenty of stop-over options. The final 5 kms from Narkanda to Agyaat Vaas was a bit of an adventure though. And I must warn you that this is no place for the faint-hearted, as is true for most adventures. Suffice to say that if you can overlook that 5 km stretch, you're in for a wonderful treat. A piece of advice here; only a driver who has considerable experience of driving in the hills should try and cover this stretch. Or you can just contact the staff at Agyaat Vaas and they can send over a car to have you picked up at Narkanda.

First things first, the hospitality at Agyaat Vaas is out-right wonderful. You will never have met a group of such hard-working and dedicated individuals who go to extremes to ensure that yours is a comfortable stay. Special mention here goes to Kapil, the 20 year old who catered to our every whim. This truly is a place for nature lovers. No words can describe the calm and peace one experiences at a place like this. The views from the resort are breath-taking too. The rooms are quite comfortable, and the food here is better than hotel or resort you're likely to have visited. The staff made sure that every meal was better than the previous one. The magnanimity of the service makes you feel right at home, as there's never any shortage of your favorite food. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were wholesome and sumptuous. Evening were accompanied with fresh snacks by the bon-fire, where you could sit and chat for hours.

Make sure to visit the Karena Peak and the Hatu Peak for some amazing views. The weather here was pleasantly cold. Make sure to carry some warm clothes even if you're visiting in the peak summers. Finally I'd like to express my gratitude to Mr. Pratap, the owner, was extremely accommodating in every respect.

One last word of advice, although this is an absolute must for nature lovers and the adventurous kind, it may not be suitable for parents with infants, or old people. This is simply because the whole theme of this resort is to make you feel like you're one with the nature, which means they have done away with superficial comforts of the town life. Rest assured, I am definitely going to visit again, probably during the winters, when this place is covered under snow.

If you want to experience presence of God go to treks suggested by Mr. Pratap Chauhan.

If you are nature lover, go to Agyaat Vaas. Experience the hospitality of Mr. Chauhan who gives personal touch to your stay. The place is not being corrupted by modernization whether it is surroundings or the people there.

Food was very good, milk was delicious, staff was very helpful

Though the place is not luxurious it is full of warmth.

Suggestion to Mr. Chauhan-- Kindly keep this place as it is, rather the Genset is also not required, suggest you to involve people in activities such as collecting firewood from surroundings, cleaning the surroundings of trash, there should be common place to get the warm water for bathing etc. You must try to built up Agyaat Vaas Community who shall remain loyal customers and conserve the environment you have created.

1. You must encourage people who have come with referral
2. Creating a club sort of thing and do the changes on the feedback of the club members
3. You may make the place more comfortable rather than making it more modernized

Overall it was very good experience, I shall be coming again and again provided you do not modernize the whole thing.
