My family stayed here while driving to Kinnaur from Chandigarh. Me, my Dad, mom younger sis and our grand parents. As my grandfather in had some problem in walking it was tough for him to cover the 100 meter uneven stretch from parking to the resort.

But, the resort guys helped us in ferrying our frandfather by their jeep as the pathway is only drivable by jeep.

We stayed in cottages which were simple, basic, neat with clean washrooms.

It's a place well tucked inside the mountains and rightly called so by the name...Agyaat Vaas! This place is amazing, staff is excellent and very warm, they will do anything and everything to meet your demands and that too in an excellent friendly way. It's a place to get away and be quiet with your near and dear ones.

Food served was freshly home-style cooked and tasty. Specially Non-Veg.

It is certainly a place where you can easily spend 3-4 days as it has so much to offer like:

- Mountain trekking to watch sunrise and sunset

- Adventure activities to indulge in like zip lining, rock climbing and rappelling (the resort has their trained team to conduct these adventure with safest measures and care)

- Birdwatching and wild lifing

- Visit to Hatu temple which is just a km away (do take a trek instead of driving)

- It is a place if you are looking to stay away from maddening crowded hills of Shimla

As we had to leave this place the

second day none of us were willing to go but as all our reservations were done for our onward travel to Kinnaur we had to leave...with the best of memories of our entire tour.

First and foremost- hats off to the hospitality!

We stayed here just for 1 night. And to our bad luck, it was raining heavily almost for the whole day.
However, inspite of the heavy downpour, the staff was so helpful in arranging for every need.

The stay is very basic, amidst the nature, with not even the basic amenities- room heaters, warm water etc. but such an experience is also sometimes wonderful….staying raw!!

The view from our room was amazing, had it not been raining, we would have loved the place all the more.
The place was beautifully nestled in the nature, away from the city hustle bustle.

The food that was served was also very good and the experience was made all the more good by the staff who served the food. They served everything with such delight that it increased our appetite!!

Overall the experience was good and worth stay.

We went to this place after reading the review from trip advisor and I am thankful that we did.

After we crossed Narkanda there is a very steep single road (approx. 6 kms.) going towards Agyaat Vaas. We were driving on the hills for the first time so the experience to drive on the said road was quite thrilling. If not confident then I suggest to ask Mr. Pratap (Owner) to arrange for the cab or else the driver to take you further. Upon reaching you will need to park your car and do a further track down (3-4 mins.) towards Agyaat Vaas as vehicles cann't go upto that place. The staff will certainly assist you to carry all your luggage till your huts.

Once you have reached meet Mr. Tanuj (Manager), enjoy the nature, sit and do gossips around bonfire, trek to Hatu Peak and Kareena Peak, visit Jaubagh and Tani Jubber Lake. The staff will serve you with tasty homely food, tea, juice, mineral water, snacks (maggi, french fries, pakoras only), milk for kids and they even offered fruit shakes for my 2 year old daughter. They will always serve you with smile. Once on the rainy day, we asked for the tea in the morning around 5.30 am, which they served.

Every morning you will be provided hot water though buckets for bathing as there are no geysers in the hut. I am amazed with this property and the services they provide for being in such an isolated place at that height.

Few things I would recommend are as follows:

1. Carry raincoat/umbrella.

2. If going with small kids, be ready to trek by holding them in arms as you cann't leave them alone, which I and my husband did. Here I would also like to mention that our trekking guides were polite and helpful enough to carry the kid once she fell asleep as she wasn't ready to go with them when awake.

3. We took suggestion from their marketing person and even visiting Giri Ganga temple in Khara Pattar (so-so) and then Hathkoti Temple near Pabbar River (so-so) on private cab. Due to bad road the whole day trip got very tiring, kids got cranky and at last upon reaching Hathkoti Temple we even could not find a place to eat to which we could eat only upon reaching back to Agyaat Vaas in the late evening. This was the only day which went bad. But I would love to mention that half the way to Giri Gange temple we took a short cut road, although that roads was again more rough but the place is so virgin, lovely, serene, natural and god knows what words should I use that I still miss not clicking any pic so that we don't get late for the Temples. In case you don't mind travelling for 4 hrs. (to and fro) on the rough roads and it is not raining then do tell Mr. Pratap to arrange for the cab and visit this place which comes much before Giri Ganga temple via some short cut route and come back to Agyaat Vaas after clicking the Nature's Glory. After this in case you decide to continue then the day will be very hectic and you will only get to see few Temples.

We could not meet Mr. Pratap but he was constantly on the phone for guidance.

So, choose to stay at Agyaat Vaas and you won't regret.

Room Tip: All rooms are good. Few rooms have valley view and other have jungle view.

Shorn of unnecessary details, some points for prospective visitors and for the management to seriously consider:
1 - The access road is raw and, hence, precaution required during rains or snowfall.
2 - There are no direction indicators till the end and, hence, check the access points beforehand to avoid wasting time.
3 - The location is surrounded by trees and is up the hill and, hence, is comparatively cooler.
4 - Food is good and the chef is competent.
5 - Property is understaffed and, hence, service is slow and deserves lots of improvement. The principle of 'buyer be beware' applies squarely here and, hence, be prepared for action only if you point out anything. Things hardly move by default. For instance, we pointed out that our entrance mat was torn and dirty, that there was no sitting chair outside the hut, that the lone table outside the hut was of no use, that the carpet adorning the surface outside the hut was filthy and dirty, that the entrance door resembled one of a filthy Government guest house, that the bolt of the door was not working, that the so called dressing area besides the bathroom was dirty and without a single dressing room feature, that the bathroom surface was decorated with dead and living mosquitoes and insects, that the toilet flush did not reset automatically and the water kept on flushing until you pushed the knob up, that the wash basin was dirty and unkempt, that the room carpet was dirty and uncleaned for months it seemed, that the room already had visitors like spiders of all sizes who kept on appearing from within the top layer of the roof (one of them sneaked on to our pillow while we were asleep and was found dead when we woke up), that some of the bonfire space chairs were broken and dirty. Please see pics attached. It is hard to believe that this was the condition at the time of check-in when, by default, accommodation should be readied for entry. Hence, the principle to note is that visitor must be beware and point out issues to the housekeeping team since it would not be the other way round. To cut the long story short, this property is a classic case of unmaking of a great location. Hopeless maintenance and poor service. Probably, this is the impact when the owner stays away and is not interested in upkeep of the property. All in all, it was a horrible night for us and we were just not able to sleep at peace (spiders kept coming in our dreams).
6 - There is no intercom and, hence, please obtain the mobile number of any one service team member (this facility is not available by default but is to be demanded).
4 - Despite a great location and serene surroundings, maintenance and service is pathetic. It is just not worth the price that we were charged for. We felt cheated. We had another night of stay which we promptly cancelled without any second thoughts.
I would humbly request the owners to visit the property at least once, stay in for a day or two like a visitor, get a first hand experience of all the things that matter to a person who comes here to enjoy his vacation, analyze the shortcomings, spend some money on replacing damaged, worn out and dirty furniture and fixtures, infuse some basic hygiene into the environment and then expect visitors to pay the kind of tariff that is being demanded. If the property is not ready for taking in tourists, please do not accept bookings and if it is done, please personally ensure that the visitors leave the property happy and satisfied.

Dear sir,
We are so thank ful to you that you pointed out our short comings. We would definately like to improve on that.
You came to agyaat vaas through some agency and I think you not been properly briefed about our very basic place. We never market our self as luxury place. As we are surrounded by dense forest so wr can not prohibit the wild life.
Please understand our expense to justify our rates
Water costing nearly 2.50 per litre.
Electric cost goes to some time 2000/ per day.
And nearest market for provision is 6 km

It's a place to get away and be quiet with your near and dear ones, highly recommended for couples who wants to find/refind themselves amongst nature. This place is suitable for nature loving families also who wants to be away from highly connected tech world and who has minimum city needs! Couples going with young children should talk to Mr Pratap before going there for suitable directions and help. My compliments to him and his entire staff for maintaining such a homely and comfortable place.
