We spent an extremely warm Easter break at the Bleasdale location fo Lanterns & Larks. I grew up 10 mins away from ehre, so was walready well aware of the beauty of this unspoilt corner of Lancashire. However, I was still not prepared for the amount of wildlife we saw on a daily basis! Morning and evening flyovers from barn owls, countless pheasants, curlews and oystercatchers and plenty of sheep and lambs in the field directly in front of our tent. Wonderful!
It was so peaceful at night and the tents are very well kitted out, with comfy beds, great kitchen facilites and the all important private flushing loo and hot shower! The little extras, such as solar powered fairy lights, numerous candles and the loan of books and toys from the shop are an added bonus. The woodburner really got the tent nice and cosy in the evenings and mornings too and the free logs were a very good idea and most welcome!
Our kids played with other kids on the site, as it's small enough to let them roam free a little, and went to bed happy and exhausted every night. They slept the most they've ever slept in their lives!
This is a great location for lots of great day trips out, including the Lake District and there's some fantastic cycling on the doorstep through the Trough of Bowland, which my husband took part in.
Our children (aged 6 and 3) said it was the best holiday they'd ever had. We will be back!
