On arrival we received a really warm welcome from Anne to this lovely Farmhouse. There was a great view from the bedroom window of the farm and surrounding fells and woodland areas. Home from home amenities with an abundance of extras, everything to make our stay exceptionally comfortable. We enjoyed superb breakfasts in a delightful large garden room, again with wonderful views. The Farmhouse is a truly lovely home, with quality and character much in evidence. Great all round perfection.

We have stayed here 4 or 5 times when visiting family in Preston. Anne's welcome is amazing - she is so kind and generous. We stay in two rooms next to each other and our two sons aged 10 and 6 have a wonderful time because Anne chats to them and looks after them so well. The rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable with so many little touches to make your stay comfortable - hairdryer, spare toothbrush and toiletries, a torch, local magazine, fresh fruit, chocolates, a massive choice of hot drinks. Anne's breakfasts are lovely and there is even homemade jam on the table - irresistible. there are some lovely walks close by and we enjoy the peaceful setting - no traffic noise.

This was our second trip to Broadgate - again a brilliant stay - so peaceful, although on a working farm. The views so beautiful. The room so well equipped - robes/hairdryer/cotton buds/cotton wool/tea-coffee-hot chocolate making facilities and fresh milk. Fresh fruit bowl/chocolates/bottled water/shortbread biscuits and more. Breakfasts - locally sourced and quite ample. In fact I had to go for the lighter option on the second morning! Again a lovely stay.

This was the best equipped B & B we have ever visited, and combined with the warm welcome and the superb setting of the farm made what had been just a stopover on our return from Scotland a wonderful end to our holiday.

Our first stay at Broadgate Farm was for one night - we wish it had been for longer. From the moment we stepped out of the car until we left we felt very welcome. The scenic approach to the farm, the lovely room where every need is catered for - from the fresh fruit/chocolates/biscuits/fresh milk/robes/slippers/binoculars - the list is endless. A very comfortable night's sleep. Choice of rooms to relax in.The conservatory - where breakfast is served - so comfortable with beautiful views of the Forest of Bowland and surrounding area - lambs playing in the sun with ducks/pheasants and birds on the lawns . Beautiful walks available - ideal as we took our dog. The accommodation is dog friendly by the way. The breakfast was superb - excellent choice - so tasty. Plenty of tea/coffee.- toast and homemade jams and marmalade. There was the usual cereals/yoghurts/fresh fruit and juice. This was a very relaxing stay - we will be back.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the Forest of Bowland - beautiful to wake up to the views.

An excellent B&B that has had a recent refurb. Very comfortable lounge and bedrooms where no attention to detail is spared; fresh milk for tea and coffee in the room (what a change that makes from the normal long-life rubbish), earl gray tea as well as 'normal' tea, fresh cut posy & fresh fruit basket, best quality shortbread biscuits, flat screen TV, three different soaps etc etc etc....... and, the best full-English I have ever had.
I travel the country, August to February, staying in this sort of 'digs' and it really is worth travelling the extra mile for. Handy for Calderbank.
Perfect location for local sporting, walking or general tourism; Anne and Brian really looked after me. Confirmation of all this? ring me, 07808 88 66 28. D. Meredith

On our travels we were looking for a quiet place in the country for one night close to Blackpool airport but not too close. We know this area and having turned up Broadgate Farm on the Lancashire tourism site we liked the look of the Website and made enquiry.
We never looked back. Excellent booking service all handled very well.
So after a somewhat weary drive up from Southern England we turned off the Motorway M6 and followed the excellent directions that we had downloaded. They were accurate to the letter and much needed as it was dark early that evening.
Our greeting was warm and welcoming and we settled in with tea and biscuits. As the owners were attending a function that evening we were given an emergency number in case of need.
A very comfortable nights sleep ensued and we awoke to views across the fields to the Trough of Bowland. Pheasants and other birds on the Lawn and skeins of Pink-footed Geese passing overhead. The lady of the house must be a birder as our bedroom was equipped with binoculars and there was a Telescope in the Breakfast room.
There wasa substantial menu for Breakfast plus the usual cold cereal and Yoghurty/muesli stuff on the buffet. The two poached eggs on toast were excellent. The homemade marmalade delicious.
If only we had known we would not have wasted the days elsewhere but just lodged here.
Next time we probably will.

Room Tip: I don't think there could be a bad one. Ours was excellent and there were not that many others t...
