Ol Malo was an amazing experience and our time there was wonderful. Each day we were offered different activities from riding camels, hiking into the valley for a picnic lunch and swim in the river, games drives and sundowners on the back of the 4x4s. Andrew and Chyulu were wonderful hosts and we loved sharing their corner of Kenya. If traveling there, it is most efficient to charter a plane rather than fly into the Loisaba airstrip an hour away from the lodge.

Room Tip: All rooms are unique and wonderful. There are no bad rooms at Ol Malo

We stayed here while on safari with my family. We were fortunate to be the only guests and it was like running into a family vacation home as we all spread out to find the best rooms only to discover that every room was incredibly unique and charming and it really didn't matter where we stayed! The views were breathtaking, I will never forget the endless landscape you can see from almost anywhere on this property. Our hosts could not have been more gracious or friendly and had so much to share with us about their farm and the community efforts they so strongly support. The son's "fly by" in their private plane was a surprise we will never forget just like the life sized Jenga we played by the fire with never ending Dawa's being poured for us. Overall, one of our favorite places so far in our travels and we hope someday to make it back! Thanks so much to all at Ol Malo who helped make our stay absolutely amazing!

My family and I had the most fantastic time at Ol Malo. The setting is second to none, the lodge is luxurious however true to the surrounding natur. We had fantastic bush walks, camping by the river, horseback and camel riding, sundowners. Ol Malo has it all. Having stayed at quite a lot lodges and camps in Kenya I have to say that Ol Malo is the only place where I could easily stay for 2 weeks and never do the same thing twice. Getting the real Kenya experience is all about staying at a place that is run by dedicated people preferably with family history from Kenya/Afrika. Ol Malo is that place. Thanks for a fantastic time. See you again and again and again....

We stayed here for 3 nights in June, and had a wonderful time. Our hosts, Colin and Rocky Franscombe could not have been more welcoming.Every day, different activities were arranged for us,- walks with a ranger by the river, long leisurely bush breakfasts, a visit to a nearby manyatta to learn about everyday Samburu life, and a 4x4 game drive.Others went riding and cycling. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious with a lovely open verandah, and the food is delicious.Afternoon tea is a highlight, especially the opportunity to feed cake to the lodges' tame kudu!We would certainly like to return one day, maybe for longer.A lovely end to our trip to Rwanda and Kenya.

We have just returned from a few days staying at this incredible lodge on an escarpment with panoramic views for miles as far as the eye can see.
We have been to many lodges throughout Kenya and Tanzania and this surpasses them all.
The lodge is not so much a building but a work of art in it's own right, wrapped around the cliff tops and blending into the countryside.

Our room was vast with a huge picture window where we watched the sun rise and a leopard and her two cubs each morning.

The food was excellent, usually with locally sourced produce. Then dinner was followed by long conversations in the evenings around the fire in the drawing room. With a fine malt whiskey and family members recounting their stories - this just made our stay so very special.
It is the sort of place you want to share with everyone you love.

I am almost sad to write this review as I want to keep Ol Malo to myself.
We shall be back- needless to say!
