“Pleasant stay! ”
Reviewed March 18, 2014 via mobile

Pro:

-Beautiful lobby
-Decoration
-Great Valet parking - no cost
-Great Bell boy service
-Friendly staff
-Good service
-Good bar
-Spacious rooms
-if check in on Saturday you can make a late check out on Sundays.
-In front of San Agustin Mall. Great for shopping and dinning.

Cons:
-No free internet
-Couldn't make the reservation through their website.
-Paid extra for a "view" and I'd have preferred not to pay. It had not a nice view at all!

I'd stay here again without paying the "view".

I've been back to bar already since my stay and it has been great.

I like the atmosphere and that the staff is friendly.

I stayed here twice in the past couple of weeks. I had received mixed reviews from people that had stayed there in the past but I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. Rooms are spacious though they are a bit tired. Service was excellentnand food at the restaurant was quite decent. Had breakfast and dinner.

Stayed for two nights. Very impressive reception area. Staff very attentive. Buffet breakfast is second to none. Room service was very quick and the food was excellent and very well presented. The hotel is just across the road from a shopping Mall, which has restaurants, Starbucks etc.
Smoking rooms available...!!
Highly recommend this hotel when staying in Monterrey.

I went to Monterrey on business and stayed here at a very favorable corporate rate. This place was first class, five star. The lobby is unbelievable. The rooms were quite unique and nice, the restaurant has an excellent and reasonable buffet. The desserts are great and there are tons of restaurants across the street in the mall. You can eat at a different place every night for a week and you can walk there. There is also a Soriano's grocery staore in the mall where you can buy Tequila, hot sauce or any other souvenirs for your American friends.

I stayed here for two nights on business. When I arrived, I was exhausted from my day of traveling but was planning to go out shopping at the lovely mall right across the street from the Hotel. When I arrived in my room I noticed a huge recliner - like a LaZBoy. Instead of shopping, I ended up "reclining" and enjoyed a comfortable, unexpected relaxing evening reading and watching TV. For this reason alone, I recommend the hotel. The property is very traditional, but has a comfortable bed and good wifi. The buffet in the lobby is excellent but there are also many excellent restaurants within walking distance in the mall across the street.

Just returned from my stay at this hotel. I was there for two nights during the week. The hotel is absolutely beauiful! My room was spacious with a panoramic view of the mountains just past the city. It was clean and there were a few really nice touches.

There are three different types of pillows on the bed. They range from soft to firm, which I appreciated! There were 2 apples on the desk, Pantene shamoo & conditioner as well as Vaseline Intensive Care lotion in the bathroom. There was also a small container of shoe shine, which I didn't use, but thought it was nice. The towels are large and seem new!

There is free wifi in the lobby area, but you have to pay the equivalent of about $5 US for internet access in the rooms.

The staff is very accommodating, but they have very limited English so it is helpful if you speak Spanish. They will exchange dollars for pesos at the front desk and they will also allow you to charge a taxi to your room, if needed. Beware: The taxi drivers tend to drive very fast, as they do in other areas of Mexico. We averaged about 80 mph (not kph) on the way back to the airport. It was 250 pesos for the taxi from the hotel to the airport.

Across the street, there is a mall called Sanborns with lots of shopping and numerous restaurants. It is easy to walk over, but you have to cross a pretty busy street to get there. There is also a restaurant in the lobby. They offer a buffet or you can order from the menu. I didn't have a chance to eat there, but I walked through. The desserts on the buffet looked amazing! In the lobby, there is also a nice jewelry store where they sell inexpensive costume jewelry.

The entire hotel is non-smoking, although smokers stand right outside. There is also a pool available in the back. I didn't use it. I didn't see anyone else using it either, bur it was only in the 70's (F) while I was there.

This hotel was full of business people, and didn't seem too much like a place you would want to bring a family with children.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, and I look forward to staying here again.
