“Classy hotel next to a shopping mall and great for business travellers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2012

Great classy hotel in a safer area of San Pedro. Staff on all levels (managers to housekeeping) were professional, courteous and helpful. Rooms are spacious and clean though some non-smoker colleagues did complain about the smoke odor in their rooms. The full breakfast buffet was great and included not only the local delights, but also dishes from the region itself which was a nice surprise. Make sure to check with the concierge as to exactly what type of breakfast you have (the fruit/cereal buffet only, the full breakfast buffet, etc) as it led to some minor confusion. The hotel is right opposite a shopping mall and supermarket which is fantastic if you have a bit of spare time and want to purchase some goodies for your team/staff/friends back at home. It also lets your kids/partner enjoy themselves while you're busy with official business.

Room Tip: remind concierge in check-in that you want a non-smoking floor if you are a non-smoker ;)

Rooms are excellent but sometimes a non smoking room smells like a cigar shop.
Amenities are nice (2 bottles of water, coffee, etc included).
Internet for business travellers is usually free.
Their buffet in the morning and at night is excellent.
If you excercise, the machines are not really state of the art and their are placed in a tiny room.
All the staff is always nice and looking forward to assist you.

Room Tip: Ask not to be to close to the elevator.

I stayed twice for a week or two each time in 2011/2012. A beautifully designed and built hotel in a safe part of town (in San Pedro) at a remarkable, great price -- a very good value. The lobby. restaurant, bar, rooms and physical facilities are first class. It's a large, busy hotel, which is nice for a business traveler; a nice place to meet people forc a drink or to just sit in the second-floor lobby to talk. The food is terrific - the buffet five nights a week is a great deal. The complimentary cold breakfast buffet (fruit/cereal, etc.) is fine. Internet access very good, including a few computers in the lobby you can check you e-mails on. The place is immaculately maintained. New flat-screen TV very nice. I am a fluent Spanish speaker so not sure about staff English - I suspect it's excellent. Laundry service very pricey but good.

But I did find the quality of friendliness unusually mixed. My expectations are not high, but I found a few staff friendly and polite, others seemed indifferent to their work, not very polite. I was really surprised - it seemed like management didn't care much about this aspect of the hotel, which could so easily be remedied. But for me this was of marginal importance. All in all, the place is fantastic, can't imagine a better place to stay at this cost.

For just about 100 US got a suit with a balcony facing the pool. The room was pretty good although there was no minibar.... the gym is OK but the pool was terribly cold... the outdoor jacuzzi had hot water recovering from the bad pool experience.... breakfast is amazing and full of all the mexican traditionals ... tried the "menudo" excellent for a terrible hangover... service was great and you also have a mall just across the street with a starbucks if you want to work a bit before you leave...

I stayed here for one night on business. The room badly needed updating, but the lobby was fantastic, as was the breakfast. Very nice service.

I arrived to the hotel on Sunday and I liked the place, the people was nice but the hotel small, the food is OK but the rest is great, the view and the shooping mall infront of the hotel makes it great to stay, the carpet on the room had a funny smell and the wireless was not working so good.

But I strongly recommend the hotel :)
