“Nice Place but Moksha is much better”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2011

Dont get misleaded by the title. Timber Trail Heights in itself is also a very nice place.
We took the Kalka Shatabdi from New Delhi & reached Kalka. From there, we hired a cab for Rs. 250 which took us till the Timber Trail Resort in about 20 mins. Luckily there was no traffic jam at that time though our cab driver told us getting stuck in jams for 1 hr or so is a common thing there.
We had booked our accommodation at Timber Trail Heights [TTH] & had the amazing opportunity of using the trolley. The view is so beautiful that you would wish for the trolley to hault for a while in the middle.
TTH is a very beautiful place. Very neat and clean and serves the purpose right [of providing relaxation].
The food was decent & so was the staff. But the experience entirely changed after we decided to get a spa treatment @ Moksha which is a 5 star property at TTH. That place is out of this world. The spa is worldclass, the location is outstanding & the restaurant at night is the best place to sip a beer or two....the infiniti pool is only for the guests & there is no swimming pool at TTH.
we look forward to going there again but this time, its going to be Moksha.

P.S:-
Get a spa treatment booked and you will get access to Moksha 2 hrs before your spa session begins...and that would be awesome

Room Tip: Book Junior Suites in TTH....for the best view

How can I start? I think I will make a list:
1. There was a RAT running around the dinning room during dinner. (Saturday 11 June 2011, 8:00 pm)
2. I asked 4 times during the day to please clean my room. It was done at 6:00 pm
3. Remote control of TV (by the way a 20" old TV) was full of sticky stuff, including human hair.
4. The nicest place of the hotel, the terrace, has not service at all. If you want to have a coke you have to walk to the bar and ask for it, if you want to seat, you have to look for a chair yourself. No help at all from staff.
5. Rate is very high for what they offer and for the quality of rooms, in addition, they charge extra for everything, even for a walk outside the hotel!!
6. From 8:00 pm to 10:30 pm they play music very loud near the dinning room. If you want to relax and enjoy the evening, just forget it.
7. At 9:00 am they call you to wake you up (Both days)... I never asked for it.
I would never recommend this place at all. One of the worst experiences in hotels.

This year we chose to travel to the North of India, for our annual summer holiday. Since we were travelling for the first time to Northern India, we were a little apprehensive about everything. So we made quite a few calls and enquired about almost everything under the sun. One of my husband’s friend suggested that we should stay at Parwanoo. So, our itinerary was Delhi/Shimla/Kullu-Manali/Parwanoo/Delhi. We were booked at Timber Trail Heights, Parwanoo. This hotel is situated on a hill and can be accessed by cable car. Generally, tourists stop at Parwanoo for a lunch break or to enjoy the cable car ride. If you are staying at Timber Trail Heights, then you are given one free pass a day, to use the cable car. So, take all your belongings before you go up to the hotel.
Our driver had taken a shortcut to reach Parwanoo and the road from Shalaghat to Dharampur was awful and it was so hot. We were so tired when we reached Timber Trail Heights, all we wanted to do was ‘rest’! We checked in and after staying at Radisson in Shimla, Span Resorts in Manali, this place seemed so average. It was so hot and the air conditioner was not working properly. We complained and asked them to send the concerned person. They were not able to fix it and after giving them a mouthful, they finally gave us another room. The staff are so irritating, rude and are not bothered about catering to the guests. The towels were dirty and the rooms were not well maintained. We did not want to stay there anymore but we did not have another alternative. Later, we learned that they have a better hotel named Moksha Spa Resort, just behind Timber Trail Heights. The very next moment we checked out from Timber Trail Heights and checked in to Moksha Spa Resort.

You park your car and get into a cable car which takes you to the hotel about a kilometer and a half away on top of a hill. It could be a WWII or James Bond movie.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed by the quality of the hotel, which is a 3 star property. The rooms were well equipped, but maintenance and cleanliness not upto the mark and food was also not great.

For those travellers whose can afford to pay much more, the owner has opened a new hotel on the same hill. It is a 5 star property called Mokhsa Spa. We ate there - stunning views and a beautiful infinity swimming pool. By the look so of it, the rooms and spa will also be excellent.

It is a Good hotel to While on a pleasure trip to Himachal pradesh, which is near to Chandigarh and yet in the Heights of Himachal Hills..
Since the Hotel is located in parwanoo, the places like chandigarh, pinjore and even the business hubs like Baddi and nalagarh are with in a few KMs away.
Staff response is cold and just OK. The Senior staff is focussed and targets the main visitors very well.
Food quality is just OK. had also an opportunity to visit another property (namely Moksha Spa Resort) which is within a few meters away
The food quality at Moksha is quite appreciable.
Hotel staff of Moksha is very rude to visitorsfrom Timber Trail Heights, which embarasses them..
Interiors at TTH are good in the Lobby andother common areas only.
Rooms at TTH are just good to stay in.
Not Value for money. Charges match only to its unique location and not quality.

It was an absolute delight to stay at the Timber Heights in Parwanoo. The stay began with a cable ride which takes a little less than half an hour from the reception area & you can see the valley around you once you rise above on the cable car. The resort has many activities for children which was a big plus as that kept my daughter fully occupied. The view from the top is amazing & feels great to spend some time in such solitude. Food is good with variety available. The cooler temperatures at this height definitely is a big plus especially when you are coming from the heat of Delhi. The hotel provides accommodation & meals to the driver also at a nominal charge which was also very helpful. Would surely return back to this place whenever I feel like taking a break.

Timber Trail heights, Parwanoo

Timber Trail Heights is truly an experience in itself. i have stayed across hotels over last so many years, but this was completely a different experience.

Set amidst lush greenery, high up on the mountain, accesible through cable car (also through road), this was an amazing experience. It takes you away from the madness of the daily life and sets you up in a completely different atmosphere.

The staff is very supportive and ensures your trip becomes a memorable one. The rooms are done up simply and are very comfortable.

They can also set up for you an enthralling evening with bonfire, music set amidst valley! This will surely stand apart for mountain lovers.

Do go there to enjoy holidays
