Although we had stayed here before and enjoyed it as a couple when returning with family and pets it was a different story. The grounds themselves are very hilly with sheer drops in places and are very dangerous for small children. Pets are allowed but certainley not welcomed, they must be kept on leads at all times and if left for even a small amount of time ( one hour to visit a farm recommended by the staff) you will be charged for damage that didnt actually happen as we were. So you are pretty much confined to the lodge as there isnt anywhere to eat or visit within walking distance and therefore the only other option would be to leave your pets in the car .Within the lodge there was an open staircase and although they were aware we were travelling with an infant no stair gate was provided and we were told just to put the chair in front of them. Overall we felt very un welcome and watched over and wont be returning.

During 2009 we welcomed hundereds of dogs, there is no requirement for dogs to be kept on a lead but we dont allow dogs to be left unattended in a lodge as they get distressed which is what happened in this case. We respect privacy in lodges but the noise of a distressed animal could not be ignored.
Readers will be interested to know that we debited the security deposit from this visitor not for damage done by the dog but for damage done to an antique candle holder during the stay...draw your own conclusions here, we debit the deposit then get a mark of 1 out of 5 on trip advisor!

The building and location is gorgeous but would have to disagree with the website's description of them being luxurious. Yes the hot tub is fabulous but the lodges are a lot smaller than expected. We rented a famaily lodge that can take 6 people and the 2 of us found it a bit too cosy. Especially the kitchen space - I have no idea how you could cook a meal for 6 in there!! The kithcen could also do with being modernised.

It was the finer details that really let this place down. It was nothing major but I feel that for somewhere to describe itself as luxurious then everything needs to be provided, rather than you having to nip to the shops to get the things you didn't think to pack (such as bin liners, cleaning spray, oven gloves, tin foil etc.). I know everyone has felt the effect of the credit cruch but supermarket own hand soap and only supplying two dishwasher tablets seems a bit stingey, considering how much we spent to stay here.

Other than that it's a great location. If you stay here we recommend you visit Ilkley as much as possible, there's so much to see and do - fabulous walking around the Cow & Calf and great places to eat from quaint coffee shops to a michelin star restaurant.

We had a fantastic week and if the finer details could be sorted we'd have no hesitation in coming back!

If you have booked a Lodge at Faweather you wont be disappointed, we have just returned today and the first thing we done was book same weekend next year!!!!!!!
All lodges are gorgeous, we have stayed in the Serenity 2 and Montana 2, but had a good walk about and they are all beautiful... I loved the Montana as it is very private, and the Squirrells come to be fed as do lots of birds etc. These lodges are not cheap but are top quality and you only get what you pay for. The added touches of chocs, bubbly and treats for the dog are really nice. So in all a big thankyou to Deb and Andrew and see you next year xx

We stayed in the actual grange and not the log cabins, the house is beautiful and i have never been in self catering anywhere that is so well equipped, there is everything you could ever need in the kitchen, the only fault we found was the heating was put on a timer and the timer was locked away in a box so you couldnt put it on when you wanted it! In november it is very cold and the house was freezing when we came back in the afternoons, we did light the fire but that only warms up the lounge! However that aside the hot tub and sauna are fantastic and we spent many hours lazing about and recharging the batteries, stunning views all around and a lovely comfortable bed. Little touches like the bucks fizz chocolates and flowers on arrival were lovely, also there are loads of booklets on what to do in the area, Harrogate is well worth a visit as is wenslydale, We would definately recommend it to friends and family and will visit again

It rained every day my girlfriend sarah and i were there and we still loved it.the lodge is warm and inviting on your arrival, and the music, chocolates, bucks fizz,,card welcoming you to faweather grange and flowers are all very nice touches.its private, the views are all very nice and theres plenty of space between the log cabins.we went to leeds although very expensive to park,i would recommend, also york but go on the park and ride as its pretty easy to get lost when inside the city, skipton, harrogate and ripon are all worth a visit, especialy bettys tea room in ilkley, beware they charge you 20p to use the toilet on the car park.anyway back at the lodge, the hot tub after a day of waiting outside changing rooms while sarah tried on clothes was very relaxing and just what we needed.i would say maybe take a a couple of beach towels and some flip flops for when you get out of the hot tub because its freezing.we would both recommend faweather grange to our friends and family and to anybody reading this review.thank you to debbie and co.

We had a short stay here as our honeymoon and it was everything we hoped for and more. The log cabin was beautiful, we stayed in Berberis 5, which seemed the best location as it is surrounded by shrubs so very private with a lovely view from the hot-tub over the dales. Watch for the (very well fed) squirrels!

The cabin was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Champagne and chocolates are a lovely touch. Comfy bed, lovely lounge area with TV, DVD, CD and surround sound made for relaxing cosy nights in front of the log fire. We were happy to pay £4 for logs and kindling, and had the fire going every night. :) The sauna takes about 20-30 mins to get going, but this is normal; remember when you go to the sauna at the gym that it's been on for the entire day! These saunas are your own personal ones, so enjoy them for what they are. Once we got the hang of it, we used it to the max!

We were looking for a chill-out break and this was perfect! Between the hot-tub, sauna, log fire and champagne, we hardly left the lodge at all! We did book the Bentley and meal at the Farsyde Restaurant, which was lovely although the car was late arriving, but hey ho, it was worth the wait. The Farsyde has lovely food and a lovely atmosphere, the staff were very pleasant and our glass of champagne on arrival was a welcome touch.

The staff are very helpful if you need them, but not intrusive at all. Instructions for everything are provided along with contact details for any time of the day or night if you have any issues.

I hope we can go back here time and time again!

P.S. One tip I would give is to take a couple of beach towels with you for the hot-tub!

We booked Berberis 1 for a week purely on the Hoseasons brochure speel, thinking (at £700) it was going to be the height of luxury. It is not. The floor space (apart from the bathroom) would be described by an estate agent as compact and bijou- it was pokey. The so called jacuzzi bath didn't have enough power to run a sewing machine, and the sauna took hours to heat up- and even then wasn't very effective.
We expected total seclusion and privacy- again Berberis 1 is not. You are overlooked both from above and across. Getting into the outdoor hot tub (it is not sunken, as we were led to believe) you feel like you are in a goldfish bowl.
The smell emanating from the kitchen units was rank, and was a comment made by several previous guests in the visitors book ( the explanation given that it was the particular wood used). Well, replace them.
Although we stayed in the summer, it did get very cold at night, and I was incensed to discover logs and kindling (apart from the one complimentary basket) are extra.
The view of the dales is somewhat marred by the electricity pylons, and Berberis 1 is just in front of the pitch-and-putt.
