The temple is situated over a large rock in the Kosi River and accessed by bridge on river. It is one of the most famous temples of the Nainital district and visited by thousands of devotees during Kartik Poornima mela. Garjiya Devi is the presiding deity of this temple.
There is narrow stairways to reach the temple, though they have separated going up and coming down with iron pipes. Small market / stalls are set up at river bed for puja material and souvenir shopping.
