Namaskara! is what you are greeted with. A fantastic resort with great staff who make you feel at home. The food was excellent and so was the barbeque. Great experience for childen with elephant ride, children's pool and other activities in the resort. We had a great spotting at the nagarhole wildlife sanctury where we spotted lepoard, gaurs, deers, squirrels, elephants and huge tuskers. Well maintained by the karnataka forest department. A great morning walk where we spotted many species of birds. Thanks to the staff and special mention to "Venky" the naturist.
Great pool and cycling track and true to nature rooms with jacuzzi. Also a tribal dance which we vitnessed in the resort. Great memories Orange County.

I should start with a WOW to Orange county !!!! A well managed and the at most hospitality from the beginning of reservation. Hats of to the people in chennai and Kabini for making this vacation a memorable one. We were given great guidance in chennai office towards the safari and stay. The moment you get into the place its a BIG WOW !!! actually we were to set out for a safari in the next day evening. But we could see the clouds coming down and pouring in jungle. so I asked whether the safari is been called off? They encouraged me with their pep talk for about 10 minutes only I was comfy with them. got the feel that they know what they are doing. It was a real wonderful experience. We set out in Rain to the boat and from the boat to the safari jeep. they gave us the raincoats by then. when we entered forest it almost had stopped raining and animals were coming out looking out for food... we almost saw everything. Next day we went for Bird watching there too the sites were awesome. the naturalists there seem to know everything and if at all he is not sure of any info they carry a book with them for reference. While leaving it was like leaving my Good friend's place. So We are planning for a family vacation again in december ....Hope to see you all soon.

Winding through villages and fields it seems impossible that a luxury resort could exist - then you enter the walled courtyard and are met by a young woman in a safari suit who welcomes you by name and brings you in to the reception area with a blessing dot and an invitation to sit and have a fruit juice. It is an amazing luxury resort with lots of extremely attentive staff.

A naturalist met with us immediately to plan our stay. He outlined all the possible activities and amenities the resort offers. We really wanted a dawn safari into Nagarhole National Park. It was unclear whether the travel agent had already arranged it or if the resort staff made sure we got 2 seats. The safari cost was 2,500Rs for foreign guests. Other activities include a nature walk along the river, a river safari if the river is high enough, an ox cart ride, an elephant ride, small round boats on the river, a game room (not videos, but board and card games), a library, a pool.

The safari began at 5:45am with a Jeep ride to the river, a boat ride across the river, a short walk into the grounds of the Kabini River Resort, and finally loading into the 15 person Jeep to drive into Nagarhole National Park. The park gates open at 6am and the number of people and vehicles are limited by the government. It was not yet monsoon season, but rains had started so everything was green and grass was tall. Our excellent naturalist guide, Venkat, explained the jungle and the various animals. We saw a bull elephant, 2 female elephants, a striped neck mongoose, spotted deer, wild pig, langurs, macaqes, peafowl, egrets and 2 types of eagles interacting (the guide was very excited and photographed the eagles.) After 3 hours in the jungle we reversed the trip and ended back at the resort in time to enjoy a full breakfast.

Meals are included - wonderful buffets with veg and non-veg and Indian and multi-cuisine options. There is a family dining room and a romantic dining room. Every other night there are tribal dancers outside the dining rooms.

I traveled with a female friend (we left our kids and husbands at home) and we enjoyed the family dining room. This was the only hotel in a 2 week vacation where we both said - "I wish I was here with my husband."

May is summer and was very hot and sticky. Many areas of the hotel incorporate fresh air with fans and air conditioning. Our room turned out to be a "pool hut" - a one bedroom cottage with a walled private pool and an open veranda facing the river. In the rainy season there are 2 natural showers incorporated in the cottage. The living room includes a sitting area with flat screen TV, a bar, reverse osmosis filtered water faucet, a mini fridge, a dining area and a desk. with french doors to the veranda. The bedroom had a king size bed, armoire with safe, sitting area, desk and large windows- the air conditioning worked very well in the bedroom. A modern bathroom with beautiful details and a direct entrance to the pool area completed the suite.

Our driver picked us up at the Bangalore Airport and we asked "how long a drive is it?" He replied 5 to 6 hours. The shock on my friend's face was cartoon-worthy - "for 270km?" It took 6 hours and Manjol was an excellent driver with a sturdy Toyota sedan.

The staff was extremely attentive. Everything was clean - hard to do in such a dusty environment. The gift shop had interesting local handicrafts (I loved the bananaleaf and silk woven purses.) The food was delicious. I highly recommend this resort!

We went to Kabini, Orange County resort for a short vacation in Feb. First of all I must state that the whole process of reservation and checkkng in and takkng care of the guests ks professionally managed and the experience of various employees involved can be clearly made out. Were drove from Mysore and before we started we received a call from the resort about the directions and ETA. The drive was pretty streneous but the resort being on the banks of the Kabini river one has to take that in the stride. On arrival the welcome reception was good and my kids enjoyed it thoroughly. Especially the view from the arrival lounge takes the breath away as you are very close to the river. The mmanagement allots your care to one of the guest executive and you can contact them for any help. We were checked into the jacuzi hut and were shown around the place. We were there for 3 days. One day we took the river boat safari. The on board guide was very experienced and knowledgable about the flora and fauna. Very educative trip. We also took the elephant ride, coracle ride, bullock cart ride. There are plenty of activities for the children including swimming pool , carrkm board , chess , table tennis etc. Over all a fantastic experince and we'll be back once again when the kids get older. The huts were very well equipped. Room service was very fast and not at all late as mentioned in their room service menu. Thats what I liked about this place. Their whole team delivers more than what they promised. We would order 2 cups of milk for the kids every day twice daily ( room service ) and finally when we went to settle the bill we were told it was complementary. That really took the cake. House keeping was excellent with no mosquitos to pester you. We saw a roof of the cottage being put up. It was done within 2 hours. The food was very sumptuous with a good mix on continental and indian menu. On departure we were given packed lunch for our drive back home. I cant tell you the diference it made because we had to drive through Bandipur national park and Chamaraja Nagar & there was not a single place to have a decent meal.

Right from the time you check-in into the resort right through the time you check out - the experience is awesome. The staff are always courteous and friendly- no matter what the request.
It was our 2nd stay last week at OCR, Kabini and the holiday experience was amazing. The rooms, were always kept clean and stocked up. The surroundings were clean. The activities available kept everyone busy. The restaurant was simply amazing - a large buffet across breakfast, lunch and dinner. The naturalists were also friendly and knowledgeable - they accompany and lead you through the jungle safaris. Overall, a great experience. Would I go back again? Yes, I would!

Room Tip: You get to the choose between either the Jacuzzi Huts or the Pool Huts. They both offer comfort and...

This is my second stay in an Orange County property, the first being Orange County Coorg. Right from the time you drive in, till the time you check out, they have made it a habit to overwhelm guests with their hospitality. Be it the front office or their restaurant or their awesome naturalists (who ensured that we got an experience of the wild by a trip to the Nagarhole Tiger Reserve), they are outstanding and ensure you get a truly luxurious experience. The food rocks!! And the private pool hut is fantastic. I traveled with my family and they had such a wonderful time that my kid was sad to check out. Special mention to their naturalists, Mr.Venkatesh and Mr.Shanmuga and their restaurant manager Mr.Anish and all the restaurant staff who made our stay very memorable. It's a must visit place for a wonderful family vacation!! Looking forward to more visits to Orange County!!

Room Tip: Private pool hut rocks!

Had stayed for 2 nights at Jacuzzi hut. It was an Awesome experience to sum it up. I am giving some suggestions for improvement in the end.

1. All the Staff are very courteous and very friendly. They take care of you like you are at home.
2. Rooms are very clean and they clean it up at least 2 to 3 times a day
3. Towels are changed at least 2 times a day
4. Awesome food. Very good variety and they cover most of the Indian dishes. On top of it they are offering to make any item just for us. Very good!
5. Very good Grill restaurant
6. Wild life documentary and Tribal dance are excellent
7. Had a great time in Private Jacuzzi and Family pool
8. Activity center has good games like Table tennis, Gym, Carom, Ludo, chess etc
9. We could not enjoy the weather as Kabini river is totally dried up. Probably a visit soon after monsoon would be a good time

Some suggestions
1. A Shampoo and Conditioner to be added to the Toiletries
2. A children play area to be developed with Trampoline, Playground slides, Swings, Climbing structures
3. A skating ring could be a good addition

Overall unforgetable memories!!!
