The property is on the river which is about 200m from the beach. It has a home-stay part and bungalow in the garden and 2 rooms on the river which we stayed in. The property is a family run by mainly the mom, daughter and the son-in-law. The mom is also the cook. They provide 24hr hot water, coffee, tea, bread and jam, which is nice when you just want something to start the day or afternoon tea. The room we stayed in was brand new, very spacious room and big and private balcony over the river. The room has tv, sofa, refrigerator and air-condition.
The problem we had was the bed and pillow is extremely hard and we had problem sleeping because of it. Second problem is the wall is very thin. We went as 2 couples and we can chat between the room in normal voice as if we were in the same room. My friend snores and that was experienced in our room.
The service by the daughter and the son-in-law is extremely good, especially the son-in-law who is very service minded and we never heard a 'no' from him. His service made our stay a very good experience.
The food provided by the owner are ok. Quite small portion and a bit more expensive for Thai standard. Everything she cooked was on the sweet side and some quite salty.

What we like about the place is the pricing. Its mid-range of course and worth it. Its not too far from the beach. The kayak is free of charge while other resort often charge by the hour. We also bought seafood from the fishermen and they set-up fire grilled for us on our balcony and cleaned up for us afterward. In other resort, you are not allow to cook, so this is a big plus for us.
The only thing visitor have to be cautions about is the billing practice by the owner. We eat a lot on the property and always asked for the bill, which never came. She would tell us, we can pay on the last day. We insisted many time, telling the husband, the son-in-law or the daughter that we wanted to pay for food right away, but always ignored. We can't just sit around and wait several hours so we just get on about. When checking out, the food bill has no details and quite substantive. We couldn't get the details from her and we had to catch the ride for the ferry.
We stayed there to save some money for good food and drinks, in the end, it cost as much as the 5-stars resort promotional packages. Yet, we may go back because we like the flexibility that are not offered by 5stars resort.
Some tips, there are many restaurants within 5 mins walking distance so it may be better option. Rent a motorbike (note the road are narrow and high-steep hills) to explore the island and experience many beaches. You can basically visit every beaches on the island in a day. Kayaking to near-by beaches is also an option and very safe.More
