My apologies to all for not sharing this slice of heaven.

Me & the Mrs went here December 2012 for a relaxing 10 days after spending the new year in Sydney.
A short long tail boat ride (1hr) from Krabi mainland to the island of Koh poo /Jum. We were met at the pier by someone best described as Automan in his moped / sidecar. Not a word of english spoken but he knew exactly who we were & where we were going. We arrived at our resort what a delightful place, our bungalow was 30yds from the beach on stilts with no air con,we did have a fan in the room & a mosquito net over the bed. because there was no air-con the wildlife runs freely & enters the grounds of the resort. we woke early one morning to see a family of monkeys scouting the ground for the fallen fruits of the jungle trees, what a lovely thing to see. The food was fantastic, I had hoped I would lose a bit of weight but it was too good. The beach is the paradise that you dream of, crystal clear waters with an endless sandy beach.
The owners rented us their mopeds to venture the island, no strings attached aslong as you returned it with fuel they were happy.
The island itself was wonderful, watching the locals make rubber from he trees & transport it to the mainland Krabi to earn their living. A true place to relax & unwind, Phi phi island is also just an hour away, another beautiful place with lots to see.

Room Tip: we had the cheapest room going which was lovely, if the cheapest room was great then the others will...

Absolutely amazing location. Really lovely people & amazing surroundings. A lot more expensive than it should be particularly at this time of year when your options are reduced to nothing but eating/drinking at the jungle hill bungalows. The meals were very overpriced, not great quality and very undersized (btw I'm not a big eater). Advise to bring your own alcohol & snacks too (if you get a 'monkey safe' bungalow otherwise forget it as the cheeky things will sneak in to your room & steal what ever even looks or even sounds like food! It's a shame that the internal prices are set so high because all in all this place is a fantastic place to do the Robinson Crusoe relaxing thing in a way we have not found anywhere else in thailand so far...

Would be great if they could at least provide you with a kettle so you can boil your water, make your own coffee or noodles.

Immediate beach very rocky & hard to find a place to swim.

Extremely basic. No room cleaning & very little English spoken - despite this I really enjoyed my time here.

Room Tip: The 'deluxe' beach side villa has no protection for the monkeys. The cheaper ones are still...

Jungle Hill is a group of rustic bungalows climbing a steep hillside on steps constructed before the invention of the tape measure. If you are terrified of insects or monkeys, or have any difficulty at all climbing stairs, this place is NOT for you!

The more expensive huts on high stilts closer to the beach enjoy decent privacy. The large cracks between the floorboards mean that you get a certain amount of flying insect flow, but there's a good mosquito net. Beds are a bit hard, but acceptable. There's a decent hammock on the porch, and the place is quiet and tranquil day and night. The fans are just adequate to cool the room at night. Food in the restaurant is good and varied. The green curry is especially good. There are a couple of other places to eat down the mostly-undeveloped beach.

The beach is brownish sand due to the proximity of some muddy river mouths on the mainland, and as a result, the visibility is poor in the water. Don't expect this to be a snorkeling destination! There is a tiny bit of immature patchy coral at the far end of the beach, but murky water and limited fish make it extremely unexciting.

Gangs of monkeys come through on a fairly regular basis, meaning you don't leave anything on your porch. In fact, a small monkey came into our bathroom (western-style, and clean- the bathroom, not the monkey)), and was getting ready to use my razor when I scared him off.

There's very little to do on Koh Jum. If you're looking for an inexpensive place to read a book, surf the net on their OK Wifi, swim on a somewhat rocky beach, watch the monkeys, eat decent Thai food, and enjoy a sunset, Jungle Hill is for you. Otherwise, not.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights. It was the most relaxing time of our month in thailand.
The staff were very helpful, the food was lovely and the sunsets were amazing.
There really isn't much to do on the island, we hired a moped from reception one day, very cheap, and rode down to the 'town' where we saw some working elephants tied up by the road so we bought some bananas and fed them!
Jum is a place to relax and chill and we loved our bungalow. It is basic but we had no problem with cleanliness or comfort. Great place

Upon checking in to this lovely hillside resort, I realized that I'd foolishly left my passport and over 700USD is cash in my room at my hotel in Krabi. The staff here immediately called the hotel, and the next day, sent someone all the way there to pick it up for me. Thanks Jungle Hill for your hospitality and kind service!

Koh Jum is island is one of the few places that is still not ruined by mass tourism. The local population is the kindest and friendliest we ever met during our 18 days journey. The island is so safe that you cannot even see a police or even a traffic officer around. The Jungle Hill is a family run hotel with scattered bungalows built on a hill overlooking a secluded beach. This is the only hotel on the island were wild monkeys share the hill side along with the guests. The food is marvelous (always saw residents from other hotels coming to enjoy the food here and the magnificent view from the hotel restaurant at sunset). The bungalows itself is quite basic specifically when it comes to the bathrooms, and bed was a little bet small, but that what you have to endure if you want the luxury of wild and virgin nature!! Thank you Tang! We really enjoyed our stay, looking forward to see you again. Say hello to everyone

After being packed onto a bus with hundreds of other tourists and then ferried around in various minibuses trying to get to Koh Lanta, we made an escape bid upon advice of a travel agent and got a taxi to Laem Kruat where we picked up by a long tail boat to Koh Jum. From that moment, we knew we were going to love Koh Jum. The boat ride, where we were the only tourists, went through absolutely beautiful scenery. We were picked up by a taxi and taken to Jungle Hill... we were greeted by the lovely Tang and sat in the beautiful restaurant overlooking the (practically private) beach. The bungalows are basic, but ours was HUGE and some nice little touches made it feel really homely. The island is lovely- some nice little restaurants and bars hidden away, always with very friendly staff/ owners. We biked round the island which was great and it was probably one of the only places in Thailand where we saw more locals than tourists!! Thoroughly recommended if you want to get away from it all, and Jungle Hill is the prefect spot to stay.
