Going to Oon Lee was great after over a week in Bangkok and Patong it was nice to have no road noise, no one selling anything and just a bit of relaxation time. A bit of a mission to get to but worth it once you are there, our bungalow was nice not very big but we weren't in it very much as we spent most of our time in a hammock or snorkeling.

It is quite a rocky beach so I would recommend taking shoes you can walk over rocks in, there are sandy bits too about 10 minutes walk away. The food was lovely as was the service Oon and Valerie do take care of you and they get to know everyone that is there. I would definitely recommend for a few days or a week of total peace of quiet.

We came here on the recommendation of our son so we were confident we would not be disappointed. That said, the reviews posted here fairly and accurately reflect the experience of Oon Lee Bungalows.
The food is well prepared; the owners are welcoming and engaged; the resort has been created with care and imagination.
We stayed in one of the sea view bungalows and also in a garden view bungalow. The garden view bungalows are larger, have air conditioning instead of a fan, and are more expensive. Both are fine but I preferred the sea views.
Arriving via the Lanta-Krabi ferry is memorable. The boat stops for about 2 minutes and folks climb out of and into longtails. It's something to behold.
Oon Lee is not party central. It's really the opposite of that--a relaxing, quiet place to enjoy the views, the food and the company of other visitors.
We received excellent advice about onward travel from Valerie which saved us from unscrupulous agents on the ferry boat.

I cannot recommend the resort highly enough. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by Oon and Valerie. The resort is kept to a really high standard, all the staff are very friendly and the quality of food was great. The resort is right by the sea and only 30 metres out you get some great snorkelling too!

Valerie and Oon made us feel really welcome from the moment and throughout our st ay!

The resort itself is beautiful and very relaxing. We didn't leave to eat anywhere else as the food is so good.

Although the beach directly below is rocky, it is good snorkeling and it is only a five minute walk to a nice sandy beach. We would also recommend renting a kayak and going to coconut beach.

Overall this is an amazing place to wind down and relax. I couldn't recommend it enough.

We loved Oon Lee Bungalows. We travelled in the very wet season, but thankfully our experience at Onn Lee and Koh Jum has still left us with wonderful warm memories. The grounds and rooms were spotless, the garden divine. Monkeys were visitors on your roof top and the views from each bungalow were beautiful. We stayed in the two bedroom family bungalow and it was more like a small house. Our boys loved it. By far the stand out for me was the food. It was the tastiest food I experienced on our travels to Thailand this time. The communal eating and relaxing space was gorgeous and like all the other reviews state, Valerie and Onn were wonderful. If you are after a white sandy beach at your doorstep, this isn't your place. But if you would like to experience a not quite so developed part of Thailand with warm people and a little more adventure, then it's the place! Our only regret is that we didn't stay for very long, we had to find the sun! If you make it there, enjoy! If the carpaccio of prawns is on offer, order it!

Room Tip: The more expensive family room was further from the sea, and was beautiful and allowed for separate...

Just a short review really, my wife and I came on our honeymoon for 6 days and couldn't of asked for a more beautiful, welcoming and idyllic place to go. Valerie and Oon are the perfect hosts and their resort is a fantastic place to stay. I cant really recommend it highly enough we went off season but still found plenty to do and weather was great. Everyone we met on the Islands was helpful and kind and would hope to return in the future.

Totally agree with previous reviewers, Valerie and Oon have absolutely got it right and I'm a little reluctant to write the glowing review it deserves so as to keep it a bit more of a secret! Valerie, Oon and everyone who works there all work extremely hard and go out of their way to help and make you feel welcome.

The bungalows are spotless with lots of lovely little touches to make your stay extra special. They're perfectly designed to maximise privacy and the stunning views. The food is fantastic, every meal we ate there was delicious.

Yes, the beach is rocky, but sandy beaches are a ten min walk along the shore.

Like so many others have done before us, we ended up changing our plans and staying on longer, we were lucky that someone delayed their trip so that there was a bungalow available for us.

The snorkelling trip was a highlight, as were sundowners on the decks with new friends. We also really enjoyed a day scooting round the island. We started off on bicycles but at nearly 40degrees and with those hills, we soon switched to an engine.

You can get a motorbike taxi to the village for 170 baht (a 20 min hilly walk to the pick up point but you get o see monkeys!). We managed to get a pick up truck all the way back from Andaman resort one day for around 250 baht.

Thank you Valerie and Oon, we'll be back!

...if you go to the village green/ square at 5pm some days you can see elephants!
