My teenage daughter and I booked this tour, by cruise boat, with Asia Canoe Thailand at the end of June. We were tossing up between this and the Phi Phi Island one, but this was the better option, I believe, as the calm waters of the bay weren't affected by the choppy ocean conditions that apparently would have detracted from the swimming, snorkelling and water colour that are considered the highlights of Phi Phi.

There was a little commuting to be done there and back, but we agreed that that was of little consequence when we'd had such a great day's outing. The company was very professional and efficient and the young tour guides were fabulous and great fun. The boat itself was comfortable enough, not too slow between islands and less expensive than the speed boat option. Lunch and the endless free soft drinks were very good.

Sure, James Bond Island is touristy, but that didn't affect our ability to see the lovely views and take travel brochure quality photos. The canoeing through the caves was a really fun experience, even for my so-called claustrophobic daughter with a low interest in physical adventures. :) The water village was good to see (including the kids in school) - watch the 5 minute YouTube video on the TMB Panyee football club first to really appreciate the place. The swim at the beach, with free kayaks and a stall selling drinks, was a lovely way to finish up (except for the sea lice that found me!). Don't plan too much the next day, as you'll be tired. Definitely recommend this trip.

We had a whole day trip to visit this island of Khao Phing Kan by big boat. The whole day trip seems a little waste to me. More than 1 hour from Patong to the pier, 30 minutes or more waiting for other ferry passengers/tourists then more than 1 hour to reach the island. For me, there is nothing much to see. The canoe ride is interesting but the cave is very small and narrow, can only fit 1 canoe at a time and the water is shallow. inside the cave, there is nothing much to admire. its dark and not so many rock formation. The water in the ibeach is muddy and not so good for swimming. I think its like a mini Underground River in Puerto princesa. Only the rock formations in the Puerto Princesa Underground River is breath taking and the river is long.

This was an awesome day out. Each was assigned our own canoeist so we didn't even have to paddle. Wonderful sights and the guide they assigned to my teenage children was their age and they all had a great time. Perfect for them. Lunch on board was freshly cooked and very nice. Its a shame other tourists don't seem to think about their fellow travellers and insist on gorging themselves with their "free" food". Other than that it was a great day out and highly recommended.

Located at south side of Thai land, this group of island is great for all age groups. We visited this place from Ao Por pier through sail boat.
We were lucky to go through the lime stone hongs, which is a lifetime experience. This should not be missed anybody visiting Phuket

I recommend to visit this place through Big boat from Ao por pier instead of speed boat. Speed boat is very bumby and not much on saving time. Long tile boat from Ao por pier will be too lengthy. Visit one day hong island , ko Phanak diamond cave, James Bond , law a island etc.

We could not visit kho payee floating fishing village. We also planned to visit Phung Chang cave on the Phang Nga town, which is located further from the National park, but could not make it . I think one has to plan one additional day for visiting Phung Chang cave , Wat tham sua , hell and heaven cave through Phang Nga town and visiting ko Panyee by long tile boat from the land at Phang Nga custom pier.

Did the "James Bond tour". Don't let the name or the tacky 007 theme deter you. Yes a little gimmicky and deliberate, but a nice boat ride through some great scenery and worth putting up with the 007 sign, the 007 airplane and all the speed boats painted to the movie. It was still a very enjoyable and scenic day trip that was well worth it.
The bay is about 1 hour north of Patong by tour van. Depending on your driver the car ride could be worse than the calm bay waters. Enough said about driving in Thailand.
The boat docks are all kitchd out with movie set props...I assume since I dont remember such details from the movie.
The speed boats are all painted with the appropriate stripes. The ride out to "James Bond" island takes about 45 minutes on very calm bay waters going thru mangroves and sandstone islands that were just so scenic.
You are dropped off to spend time exploring the small island, the famous beach, etc. Funny I dont remember all those souvenir stands in the movie!
After exploring the island you go to a town built over the water to have lunch. Lots of large restaurants to accomodate the hoards. After lunch you can explore the town.
Overall a very beautiful day. Best tour on Phuket.
