Owner description: Kolmrden Zoo is unique. There is no other place which has so many animials and species of animals all brought together in one and the same place. Stand eye to eye with a wolf, or a tiger or a lion. Admire the giraffe, the rhinoceros and the polar bear. Th

“Kolmården at Easter (April)”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2013

Visited Kolmården during the Easter break (midweek). One of the advantages of going then was that there are not too many people visiting. On the other hand a lot of things in Kolmården are shut. It was great to see the animals with the kids. We saw the dolphins too but there was not a show on but we did get to see them training with their trainers for the show. Some of the things shut was the cable car and fun fare rides as well as the Bamse 'village'. There was some activities like an Easter Egg hunt the children could take part in. I believe most of the restaurants were open. We ate some Thai at a place with seats outside and this was fine. When we went there was snow around although we had a beautiful sunny day so it was much enjoyed.

“Zoo life at its finest”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 7, 2013

I would say that the animals here are treated fairly better than usual. The space is generous, the place is well kept. It is an open-air facility and yet I appreciate that there are no roaming smokers among the tourists. I've seen the latest dolphin show, and it showed a segment about the sad state of some of our oceans and what this will mean for the ecosystem. Very relevant messages, and I think it is responsible to impart them to tourists at that point. Zoos are more than for just appreciation, it is also for education and for instilling mindfulness. There's something for everyone indeed, and it improves itself everytime I go.

This is the best zoo we as a family have ever visited,

the animals have a large space to roam around, they look extremely heathy. It is immaculate, friendly staff. I have never visited somewhere that has toilet facilities everywhere.

To beak up the day, there are plenty of picnic tables and a large playground for the kids.

The dolphin show is fantastic, the sound and visuals. My children were fascinated.

The only downside was the entry price, which was about £170 for a family of 5. Ice creams were very pricey too, but that is Sweden for you!

“Different experience of Zoo”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

It was a different zoo we have ever visited before. I am from India. I haven't seen this type of zoo in India. Top attractions that differentiates it from others are,

(1) Dolphin show. It is ultimate. Life time memorable.
(2) Cable car over the forest. You can see lions, giraffe, bear etc close to you.
(3) Gorillas and chimpanzee. Before this visit, I have just seen them on Television. :)
(4) I did also like Bird show and Seal fish show.

7-8 hours are required to see the complete zoo and all attractions. They will give the schedule for the day. Plan according to the schedule. Reach to the special show before 15 mins to grab your seat.

Enjoy your day here !!

“Safari, dolphins and monkeys”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2013

There might not be so many animals in Kolmården, but there is a lot of space to accomodate them. Go to safari right before you leave, since animals are more active in the evening. We could have also looked at monkeys for hours. Great place for families.
