I would suggest every visitor to avoid this property. The management is too poor and the staffs are always reluctant to provide service that you need. Cottages are good but the rooms are terrible. Drinking water is worst and you don't find any service. The guys in the reception behaves like if they are helping you or showing mercy. The environment is too poor and they don't know how to behave with guests.

Avoid this hotel. Better you stay a bit away from the beach but in good hotels where you get service and good environment.

Regards,
Abhijit

Room Tip: Cottages by the swimming pool are good. The rooms are terrible. The restaurant serves average food a...

Colmar hotel on Colva beach is definitely avoidable if you are looking for a decent vacation stay for you family. The place was suggested by our taxi driver, which turned out to be the low point of our Goa trip and a life's lesson, that never take suggestions from your taxi driver seriously.Though priced modestly, the hotel is run-down in appearance, rooms are very badly maintained, with filthy bathrooms, dirty linen, broken furniture and a virtually non-existent restuarant. Colva beach by itself is very densely populated with city folks. Regret that we missed the earlier reviews on this site for Colmar.

Very poorly maintained hotel, and a danger to the health of its guests. Our room featured a thriving population of cockroaches, on discovery of which I tried to to call reception, to find the plug had been cut from the phone. Dangerous wiring was evident in every element of the room wiring, including bare live wires on the fuse board (yes, there's a bare fuse baord in every room), burned out sockets, and a fan which received its power via twisted together mains wires. In general, the room was filthy. I found several patches of months-old, uncleaned paan spit in the room. The pool features algae, and the most dangerous children's pool I have seen. It's also noisy as hell. Don't, under any circumstances, bring children here. The wiring alone represents a major fire hazard. And for pity's sake, don't under any circumsatnces take a hot shower. The pictures here I think are self-explanatory.
Booked the hotel via a local agent, and had to pay in advance. After a loud atnd-up row, managed to get a refund of less than 50% of the outlay, but in the end I needed to get my family out for the sake of their safety. This hotel exists to take advantage of domestic tourists who some to get drunk. Did I mention the noise yet?

Colva beach is fantastic, but the crowds at Colva itself mar the experience. Move the three miles down the beach to Benaulim, which is vastly better, and with a greater range of accomodation of vastly better quality and value.

Colmar is located on the beach and yes, that is the only thing we looked for while selecting this hotel, but it all went wrong there itself! We should have read the reviews here before going there! Firstly, the information here isn't correct. Colmar is located at Colva and not Margao as shown in tripadvisor and so we couldn't find the reviews here as we searched with Colva.
The property is located on the Colva beach, but unfortunately the way to the beach from the hotel is full of filth and garbage from a shack that operates within its premises. There is also an area which consists of a few plastic chairs and tables served by the shack, they are good if you like the dosas and the idlis, but the houseflies and filth around will make you fly away soon!
Service is non existent, there is no intercom service as well for the cottages. We had to leave our rooms and go to the reception area near the entrance for getting anything.
The worst part was the water logging in front of the cottages! We were there in September and never knew that rain can spoil our holidays in Colmar as we didn't want to put our feet in the dirty, two feet odd deep water!
I remember a Briton completely shattered at the way of things there and commented : "I felt like a fish here last night, I will make sure I don't waste my time here"!
The rooms were stinky and worn out, shouting lack of maintenance every moment.
Overall, we will only go back there if the owner refurbishes the whole property and makes it stay-able.Till then, avoid this place at all costs!

Room Tip: Avoid the building behind the cottages
