a spacious hotel at mall road, it has really large rooms and a spacious garden area for sitting, playing or simply soaking the nature with beautiful scenery all around. services are at times tardy but staff are very prompt and diligent. food quality is good. they also arrange for bonfires in the evening. for family & kids, it is THE HOTEL in Kasauli. we all enjoyed a lot here.

Room Tip: all delux rooms are joined by a large verandah which opens up to a lush green lawn. we stayed in roo...

I make it a point to visit Alasia for its great food, both continental as well as Indian whenvere I am in and around Kasauli. The food they serve is not only good, out of the world but also value for money. Recently we had two outings, for continental Lunch and Indian Dinner. The restaurant lived up to its expectations. Not very costly, a meal for two families (7 memebers) cost us around Rs. 2000/-.

I didnt expect kasauli to be practically void of everything and anything but thats what u get in return for some peace and quiet...The hotel Alasia was thankfully @ the mall road and only three others can claim 2 b so...Ros common ( though much further down) , R Maidens and one other smaller one. Alasia was a great pick...wonderful location, peaceful staff and good indian food. The rooms on the opp side of the road with the garden were comfortable and the only thing that seemed to make the trip difficult was their water pressure and sometimes lack of hot water.
In the cold weather this can be a really sore point...
The rooms above their dining room were amazing but not meant for families with young children since their railings were pretty low but otherwise really spacious and great. All rooms were equipped with Cable TV and an intercom. The hotel is adjacent to the daily needs shop which have all the necessary provisions incldg salami sandwiches.
The Kasauli mall road is boring and avoidable. The monkey point ( hanuman Temple) is a must see and the sunset point is good ( uve seen one uve seen all) but the best part of Kasauli is the mountain view.

On yet another weekend gateway to Kasauli, we decided to stay at Alasia. The hotel looks appealing from the outside. The manager told us that they only had a deluxe suite available and we agreed. Once we were inside out room we realised that deluxe meant One big room with a bed + One big room with a couch and a TV. The suite was spacious but lacked all amenities you expect in a suite. The television was old and had to be beaten to work. The paint on the walls was falling apart, there was no hot water in the bathroom and staff was not helpful. We chose to order from room service for dinner and the food was over rated.

I cant tell you how happy i was to check out the next morning.

Room Tip: Over Priced - Low on service

One of the few hotels in Kasauli with a good location and actually located IN Kasauli, rather than on the periphery (like Kasauli Regency and Baikunth).
Alasia is located 4-5 minutes walking distance from the charmful Mall Road market in Kasauli.
Deluxe room is spacious and comfortable, with a good view of the hills
Hotel's restaurant food and room service is good.
Staff is courteous.

Alasia is no longer what it used to be. The rooms are terrible, the carpets are never vacumed, the bedsheets are smaller than the matresses, the bed linen is ot changed everyday , the bathroom has sub standard fittings.

The service was absolutely terrible, the staff would shout in the kitchen from 5 am until midnight , never take room No. 20 as you will not get much sleep because of the shouting right below in the kitchen!

The staff is too many with absolutely no work, and no willingness to work. The only thing that's gone up in Alasia is the room tarriff. It's clearly no value. After haing stayed here in the 1990's when it was run by the australian family who owned it, this visit has come as a terible experience, the present owners need to take corrective steps and get it back in shape and also get the service improved. Or else it will end up like any other low grade hotel.
