“An average hotel but with a great view”

we could only get this hotel since all the hotels were full. The room tariff was pretty reasonable. The hotel,s only PLUS point is its breathtaking view.Otherwise please don,t have any other expectations regarding room service and room quality. The quality of food was just palatable.

We stayed at this hotel for a night. It was one of the cheapest options available at Kasauli and it had a great view at the back of the hotel. Food quality is decent, you won't complain about it if the quality of dinners/lunches are not your prime motive to go Kasauli.

Strongly recommend for bachelors/students.

Room Tip: If you are looking for cheap options at Kasauli, it is the place. Bachelors will not complain about...

Everything about this place is depressing, the rooms, the staff, the broken furniture and the pathetic service. The people are rude and un helpful. The rooms are VERY DIRTY AND DUSTY. The only saving grace is the beautiful view from the common balcony. we stayed here for one night but shifted to Ross Common the very next day. This place realy sucks avoid it at all costs.

Stayed put in Hotel R Maidens for a couple of nights because Ros Common and Alacia were full. Was charged 2290 for a night and i was disappointed with the room and food. Front Office staff was only interested in taking my money and as soon i gave it to them, off they went. No one to help you carry your luggage to your room. Once in the room, found it dirty with hairs all around. When i complained, they said the cleaner has already left for the day.
Next day, Hot water wasn't available throughout. As soon as one person was done bathing, off went the Hot Water. I guess they share the Geyser between 2 rooms. When i informed the Front Office, they feigned ignorance.
On the other side, view is nice if you get rooms at the end of the passage, if i am not wrong, it was room no. 218.
All in all, would only stay there, if i don't have any option.

Room Tip: Pick room at the end of the passage, especially Room 218 if at all you have to stay here.

Me & my family members had put up in this Hotel from 4th November 2012 to 6th November 2012 with advance booking and had occupied Room Nos. 212 & 214.

The location of the Hotel is good with parking and Restaurant Facilities. The Hotel staff are helpful. However, the rooms are not well maintained and are dirty. The toilets always stinks and they had to spray deodrant/room freshner to camoflague the stink.

The room rates are reasonable as compared to HPTDC Hotel Ros Common, which is near to this Hotel.

it was a very bad experience of staying in this hotel.room service was bad and after asking thrice they provided me dinner in my room.food was just average quality.rooms are made by soft partition so you could be disturbed by snoring of the person of adjacent room.even you can easily hear the chatting of adjacent room people. they charged 1800 for a room which was not worth of it. bathrooms are hell .they did not provided a slipper for bathroom .

only good thing-is location .you can get a quiet good view of the valley .

Like I said, it's not a bad place if you're stuck for the night in Kasauli.

Poker-faced manager, not much interested in anything (which is not bad sometimes). Fill the details in the register and head to your room. Be polite to the people there and smile often, they might be nice to you in return. (Honestly many a time people have a bad time coz they're rude to others in the first place)

The cooks are plain hilly-village people I guess but they're not really bad at their job.

Sad part--> Creaky beds, bathrooms...umm! ok they'll pass (remember you're stuck for the night!)

Worse--> you find out that there's a curtain in the room behind which there's a door (which leads to someone else's room!!). You can now go to sleep after presuming that people in the other room will not do something stupid at night. Keep a Bible with you (or a Geeta, Quran etc etc.) and invoke God's protection (Ah! you'd probably have a family on the other side that's just as scared, so it's alright). (All rooms might not have this "amenity"; I do not know)

Good--> There's something about a small wooden room in hills that I just love (even if the carpet's not the cleanest). Then there's another room next to the bedroom with a table (the good ol sunmica clad suff from the 1990s) and chairs with a window (wrapped up in wire-mesh for your protection) with a view that's not bad either.
Whatever it is, you might still find it cute.

Food's not bad (if you're stuck for the night).

So if you're stuck for the night in Kasauli, you might just pay 1500/- INR and make the stay more interesting. So here's what you do:

1. Get some interesting snacks made from the shop right across called Daily Needs (ol' shop from the 1930s), makes interesting non-veg sandwiches and other stuff (but plz plz be polite and nice to the old man, he's not the politest person in India but he's ok so long as you don't expect him to be "nice")

2. Buy a bottle of wine. You get lots of cheap and interesting wine made in Himachal from almost every shop (hey! you could get one from Daily Needs itself).

3. Buy a candle.

4. Get all the knick-knacks and grub and go to the room in the rear, shut off all the lights, light-up the candle, breathe in the fresh cold hilly air and make it interesting.
(Don't go out walking very late at night in Kasauli, the big hilly stray dogs might make short work of your bones. They get pretty territorial at night).

5. Wake up early next morning and take a stroll. Go over to the other side and take a look at all the interesting houses on the hills, enjoy the serenity and, if you're early enough, the sunrise.

6. Take care of the reasons you were stuck for and head to were you planned.

Hey! if you're creative enough, you might deliberately wanna get stuck in Kasauli for the night.
