“A very nice 5 star rated hotel.”

The room is large, clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was extensive and good. There is no in-room directory for services. In fact, there is no English information at all in the room. The front desk staff speaks very little English, so communications can be difficult.

This hotel is the nicest in Kashgar, but far from the action. It is only a 10 RMB ride to the central city, but a central hotel would be better if you want to walk around. There is nothing around the Kashi Yin Rui Lin Hotel to see if you are into walking and exploring.

This is supposed to be a big and modern hotel in this old city of Kashi. True the outside of the hotel and the lobby look nice and grand; however, the stay inside the guest room is a different story. There is much to be desired in terms of attention to details in the room although I do not expect a real luxurious hotel in this part of China. The partition between the bedroom and the bathroom is a glass pane, which is weird enough. There is no hook behind the bathroom door, not quite convenient to the user. The hair dryer is put inside the closet drawer but there is no socket for it in the washroom, another weird arrangement. It seems that the builder is only interested in making the outside of the hotel look nice but does not really think about the needs of the guests. I do not know if the city is a dusty one but the room is not vacuumed and cleaned thoroughly beforehand so that I can feel dust on the surface of furniture. Overall, I can only say this hotel is not bad but is just a very average one and doesn't live up to the standard of a 5-star hotel.

The hotel is huge, but in a bad way. Th hardware is terrible, and service is non-existence. The toilet stink of stench from poor plumbing, there's no shower cubicle. the breakfast has poor selection, The swimming pool is overcrowded with locals and the water quality is poor. This so-called 5 star hotel is worse off than the 4-star Shenzhen Airlines hotel in the city center.

This is definitely not a 5 star hotel, but it is probably a 4-star hotel in China. We knew we were going to be out traveling/sight-seeing all day and wanted a clean and nice place to return to at the end of the day, and I would say that it met that goal for the most part. The rooms are clean and modern (flat screen TV, mini fridge, etc.), however they are ALL smoking rooms, despite what they may tell you. We saw three different rooms in order to find the one with the least "smoking smell". It was OK, but the sheets and the towels, even after being changed after the first day, were VERY smoking. The shower is odd since it is a new, rain shower style, but there is no glass, just an old shower curtain around it. There is also no lip on the bottom, so the water goes all over the floor and floods the bathroom each time you shower. On our third night there, the water shut off for about 30 minutes. We called to get them to fix it and discovered it was a problem on the whole floor. It eventually resumed. The breakfast is decent and mostly Chinese style, with a few eggs and toast. The location is not near the old city or any restaurants, but it was super easy to get a taxi there and back at night. If you have a guide, which you probably do if you're traveling here, and they are not taking you to dinner, you can ask them to write down a few restaurants they recommend in Ughir, and then show them to the taxi driver. It was very easy and cheap (5-15 RMB a ride). There is no English at the hotel, but there was a helpful manger who spoke some who gave us his card if we had any problems, which was quite helpful. Overall, I would recommend this an upscale option, as it seems the options in Kashgar are limited, but just be aware of the downfalls :)

It's your usual over the top Chnese hotel where everything is bigger and better, but after roughing it out on the KKH the week before this felt like heaven.

Reception was mixed - the girl at Check-in was great, spoke English, the one at Check-out had a bad case of the 'tudes.

There is an Uyghur bell boy working there who , despite not speaking English, was very kind and helpful.

We had a complimentary cake+coffee set for afternoon tea, which was a nice touch seeing as coffee is generally difficult to obtain and western style cakes are almost nonexistent bearing in mind where we were.

Room was clean, housekeeping was fine. In-room LAN internet was extremely fast.

There is free wifi in the lobby.

Not the most central but it is not true that there is nothing to see. Just scratch the surface a little and you will find hidden gems all around.

There is a residential area made of mud bricks directly opposite the entrace of the hotel where we explored gave us a glimpse of really 'authentic' Uyghr life.

If you walked out of the hotel door , turn right and follow the road down about 800m you will see more glimpses of Uyghr life, where a vegetable market, shops and clinics are. If you enter through the gates of the market you will find a massive open air pool hall with only Uyghur men and boys play there. It was such a wonderful rare glimpe into real life. Everybody was friendly and we bought some grapes and took a few photos.

Further down that road is an open air food area with dozens of kebab stands selling zhuafan, kaorou, laghman and the odd samsa or two. It was unbelievably cheap and there were no ill effects after ingestion :)

This hotel is pretty fancy and the rooms are very clean and spacious.

Some downsides:
The hotel is in the middle of nowhere. There are plenty of hotels in the city which are walking distance from interesting things to see.
The service is mixed. The reception staff is on the ball; taking initiative and providing excellent services. Room service is another story. How can it be a five star hotel when room service has to be called and reminded of what you ordered.
The other issue is: What the hell is the purpose of a giant window into the bathroom?! What kind of clientele is being catered to who the hotel anticipates wants to watch people on the toilet? That's just creepy.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not facing the beautiful view of the nuclear reactor.

Good: Staff was very hospitable especially Ms Nuri and Mr Double Wang who went out of their way to make our trip comfortable and trouble free. Breakfast buffet was a stunner, huge, healthy and delicious. Hotel is brand new so everything is spanking new here - rooms very comfortable, toilets clean.
Bad: Restaurant food for western cuisine could do with a better trained chef, the tea items offered in the cafe were hard and not very fresh.
Ugly: Nothing ugly about this hotel...!

Room Tip: Close to the city, despite what people tell you. Certainly tot walking distance to any Kashgar sight...
