Again, I preface this review of a Chinese hotel by saying I compare it to other Chinese hotels not to Western hotels of the same ratings. Please check my other reviews for comparison.
Kashgar does not have many good tourist hotels (I mean by that not youth hostels or Chinese travelers hotels). This is at the higher range at 500Yuans a day. Usual large room, with two hard beds, moderately clean bathroom with some poorly operating appliances (shower). The hotel can be noisy (when a busload of partying tourists comes in). The breakfast is below average, and the room gets crowded quickly.
Internet free as usual, however it is spotty.
People at the front desk are welcoming and trying their best, this is unusual.
The hotel is not far from the center of town (Mosque, bazaar).
PS: We walked to the Quinibagh hotel on the last day and found that the new tower was just going to open that week. It is clearly much more modern and of Western standard, price is likely to be higher but on that occasion they were offering rooms at 400Yuans a night (because the AC was not operating yet). Things are changing in Kashgar, and readers of this review should check for new hotels.More
