We were dispairing of a good place to eat in Parades until we came across this restaurant just down the road in Villefranche. We have been travelling for two months and this was one of three memorable meals. We had a €27 meal of exceptional food, well presented and the service was excellent, very friendly. We ordered a good bottle of wine and they were more than happy to cork the remainder as we were driving. Very good value meal of exceptional quality.

This restaurant, in the heart of the medieval village of Villefranche de Conflent, has dropped "Le Grill" from its name and now just calls itself Restaurant La Senyera.
Four superb courses for the equivalent of about £20 is fabulous value at any time. Salade de gésiers, émincé de magret de canard, soft gentle goat's cheese and moelleux de chocolat -- food of this high quality is rare and this was the best meal I've eaten in many many years. Mes félicitations, M. le Chef de Cuisine!
The restaurant itself is warm and welcoming, and dressed in warm reds and golds. The service is quietly infomal, but excellent.

My husband and I had previously eaten a lovely meal at the inn in Sournia a couple of years ago and were told that the chef (Julien Blaya) had moved to a new location. We were delighted to have tracked him down to la Senyera in Villefranche. Our recent meal (2 July) was even better than before and in a much lovelier location - the beautiful walled town of Villefranche de Conflent. I very much agree on the advice to book if you can as this restaurant - not long opened - is increasing in reputation, and not just with tourists, the French locals love it also which is quite unusual in such a touristy town. No need to dress up, I did and felt a bit over-dressed in the casual atmosphere. But while the ambiance may be casual, they are serious about the food - which is wonderful and really very underpriced for the quality. The four course set menu at 27 euros was excellent. As we were driving, we restricted ourselves to a small pichet of incredibly well-priced local wine. We did notice however that another table asked to take away their bottle of better wine that was not finished. Madame was glad to oblige and provided a very fetching wine carrier at no extra cost. Merci bien M. Bleya - we will return and next time try out some of the small but impressive wine list also.

We had a lovely dinner of regional cuisine in this charming restaurant located in the bastide (medieval walled village) of Villefranche de Conflent. Be sure to make reservations as the restaurant is popular with tourists and locals.

This restaurant was recommended to us by locals as one of the best restaurants in the town. It was very good. We selected our meal from the set menu and were not disappointed. Overall a good meal with nice wine at a reasonable cost.
