“Very Relaxing Place And So Much To See”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2013

I have been here numerous times and recently in December and each time I visit I find something different. About 20 minutes from Cairns city centre by taxi this garden offers so much and I think you will need at least 2 hours if not more to be able to see everything. It is definitely the best place to see when visiting Cairns and with quite a relaxing atmosphere. And guess what it is free. There is so much beautiful flora and faunas and the orchids as they are so beautiful and so colourful. The whole garden gives you so much you wish you had all the time in the world. I believe the best time to see the flowers and orchids at their best is mid morning when they are out to showcase their beauty and the air is completely fresh you can smell it. I love this place and since I am a local I will always find time to be in amongst these wonderful tropical plants. You can also sit down to a cuppa or a cold drink when you are content in the coffee shop within the garden or at the tanks coffee shop 5 minutes down the road. Either way you are bound to enjoy it and probably when you finish your tea and if feeling energised you might want to go again. As I said there is so much to see you won't be disappointed.

“Cairns best workout in lush surrounds”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2013 via mobile

For the active visitors... When visiting the gardens park in Greenslopes Street and walk via the paths and boardwalk to the main part of the gardens in Collins avenue. Dont miss the red arrow.. A steep and reasonably challenging walk /stair climb on a maintained trail. The loop track has a rest station at the top with great views over the airport and a bit further around provides excellent city views. Want a good cardio work out? Try running it! Twice or more. Stick to early morning or late afternoon if visiting in summer. Even though the path is 90% shaded it can get oppressively hot and still on a 30c day. Well worth the effort and a popular choice for locals.

“Just lovely”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2012

A must do in Cairns.

This is a lovely garden. Heaps to keep a family happy. We ran out of time and not once did we hear "I'm bored".

Some off the signage was confusing in the Sex and Death display. Would definitely go back to see the bits we missed.

It is just across the road from the airport. If you have some time to fill whilst awaiting a flight you couldn't get better value for money.

Very nice gardens and also very well looked after. Probably the best thing in cairns worth a visit. No charge and lots of different plants growing many you can only grow indoors at home
