This is a local restaurant for us. We went simply because I couldn't be bothered to cook! We ate in the restaurant which was very quiet. The specials are superb - the chef is doing a great job. Beautifully cooked and presentation was also great. Now just add a daily special for pud and it will be perfect.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with such wonderful comments on your recent visit to The Squire Inn.

Our specials board is where our Chefs can really become creative and as such we have some wonderful dishes on the ever-changing specials boards. Our chef, Darren, was really pleased to read your comments on how much you enjoyed your meals.

Thank you once again and we look forward to welcoming you back in the near future to The Squire Inn.

Always a nice pub to pop in for lunch and a pint. The steak & onion ciabatta is particularly tasty.
The only downside is the price of a pint which seems to be ever-creeping upwards

Thanks for taking the time to review us here at The Squire.

It was a pleasure to read your comments, especially on how enjoyable you find the steak and onion ciabatta.

Unfortunately we have very little control over the price of a pint as tax on beer, and our suppliers' prices have increased above inflation for the last decade, leaving us in a position whereby we make less profit per pint than we did 10 years ago, despite the prices being higher. If we could charge less per pint, trust me, we would.

Thanks once again for your comments and we look forward to welcoming you back to The Squire in the near future.

Visited with family for Sunday lunch which was pre-booked. We were about 5 minutes early and the rest of the party wasn't yet there - we made ourselves known and were asked twice if we wanted drinks (we wanted to wait for the rest of the party and order wine at the table).

Having declined drinks twice we were then ignored and left standing in the entrance area of the restaurant, not certain what to do. No-one asked if we wanted to be seated at our table or offered us a seat in the bar area. When the rest of the family arrived, a similar procedure took place but we were seated when we asked to be (the restaurant was about a third full)!

There was no wine list - the waiter told us verbally what was available but of course no prices were mentioned and this might cause concern/embarrassment if you were on a budget. The food was all fine (the pork was a bit fatty) and the service was fine once we were seated at our table, but the 'welcome' we got when we came in was enough to put us off visitng again for a meal.

Thank you for taking the time to review us on Trip Advisor.

Our apologies that the 'welcome' service on your visit to The Squire was not up to par. We have since addressed this issue with the staff and reiterated how to look after customers on first arrival at the bar before going through to the restaurant.

At the time we were inbetween wine suppliers and as such did not have a comprehensive list as such - this is now rectified.

We were pleased that you enjoyed the subsequent service and food throughout your lunch with us and look forward to welcoming you back to The Squire in the future.

We have been past this pub many times and finally found time to go in! Delicious lunch. Well cooked and plentiful. Very good value for money too!

Out for a dinner whilst staying in Chipping Sodbury was looking for a quick pub meal ... Ate in the bar .. Typical busy bar with football on tv and was expecting some plain uninspiring food ... Ordered a chicken and bacon salad and a grilled fish ... Found the portion exceptionally generous and the quality excellent ... Would thoroughly recommend and visit again!

Thank you for taking the time to review us here on Trip Advisor.

Whilst we have a large, newly refurbished restaurant at the rear of the building, a lot of people prefer a more relaxed lunch in our thriving bar areas.

It was wonderful reading of your pleasure at receiving such 'excellent quality' and generous portions.

We do hope you visit again when next in the area - thanks again for the review.
