“Disappointed”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

I had "Todays Special" Roast Chiken but it was not good nor fresh food. Roast potato and stuffing were very dry and the vegetables were over cooked. I would never ever go back again

“Gone down hill”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2013

We use this pub when we need a quick pub meal or are walking the dogs. We went in April and its gone down hill the food wasn't good and not well cooked. We had fish and chips but it was greasy and very tasteless. The service wasn't so good and we saw another couple walk out.

The pub itself is in. Good location but needs some doing up inside and the garden could be a gold mine if some effort was put in o making it pretty.

It's lists its charm totally and we won't be going back- big shame.

“Great food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2013 via mobile

Called in here on spec on our way to seeing a garden open for the NGS. Place was not full, but filling up nicely. Services was a little slow, but the wait was worth it. Mixes mezze to start with were pretty good, but it was the main cours that excelled. I had wild boar - several medallions of tender loing, while my wife had a whole sea bass. Very tasty, well cooked and good value. Veg slightly overcooked, but not horrendously. Staff friendly and checked without being irritating as to whether we were enjoying the food.

“Great food, good service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 21, 2013

Went here recently with a group of girlfriends for steak night which is on a Tuesday night. You can have two different types of steak (I went for rib eye) with a choice of 3 sauces with chunky chips and salad or peas for £12. Fantastic steak again, this is not the first time we've been here, and cooked to perfection - I asked for medium rare and that's exactly how it was cooked. Two of the girls also had chicken dishes, which smelled and looked delicious. Most of the girls had a desert, the sticky toffee pudding was certainly going down well, served with custard or ice cream - it was defiantly a hit!
Really good service again in this great little pub, we'd definitely recommend it. However, make a booking, it can get really busy.

“Everything a Family Pub should be”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2013

This is a gorgeous country pub with a lovely large garden. They have a great menu with lunch for a fiver during the week and delicious (very reasonably priced) roast dinners on Sunday. The staff are amazing with children and the kids food is good quality and healthy. There are a great selection of ales and lovely wine list too. As a family pub, it cannot be beaten and it is now our venue of choice for family celebrations.
