In search of another restaurant, which was closed despite it stating on TripAdvisor it would be open for lunch, we went to the closest restaurant in the area: Taverna a Mare. It is a very large restaurant with a cafe/ice cream area to one side, and a large restaurant to the other side. The menu was a little limited (because it was lunchtime) but the waiter was very accommodating and we mixed and matched primi and secondi dishes. We shared a very good Frito Misto to start, with a bottle of pink wine - we returned the carafe of house rose as it was pretty ropey. Followed by pasta: one with mussels and clams, which was nice, and a mushroom and prawn pasta which was really good. Washed down with espresso, it was an unexpectedly good lunch.
