Recently went to Artisan with a large group. The staff were friendly and efficient. Small restaurant, nothing fancy, don't recommend sitting facing window - view is a bleak landscape (why don't they put frosting on windows) Owner please take note!! Have been on many occasions before and food is usually delicious. But on this and one previous occasion, there was something lacking in quality with the main courses. There is a whisky selection to die for and the starters were amazing. The last twice they didn't have my favourite sweet, Bailey's cheesecake - to die for! The portions are huge and everyone at our table left something and I hate to see waste. I understand value for money but Artisan must surely be aware by now that portions are too big. It probably didn't help that there is no air conditioning (or its never on) and it made for a uncomfortable night. Will not be rushing back!!

They say you get what you pay for, but in Artisan you get FAR more that you pay for! The menus are fantastic and dynamic and the Chef consistently dishes up top quality nosh! If its value for money you are looking for then this little gem has not to be missed. :-)

Me and my partner attend here roughly once a month as it is our favourite venue for food. The food on offer is exceptional and well worth the money. The fish and chips is 10/10 I recommend it to everyone!! Service is good and the staff are very friendly

Been to Artisan a few times now, the main reason for this is the outstanding value for money on the lunch menu two courses for £7.50 although I have been for dinner also. The courses are a little unamaginitve and lack attention to detail. The bread appitizer was served with cold hard bread and solid dish of butter, unspreadable unless you had a blowtorch in your handbag. My partners traditional fish n chips had too many bones to eat comfortably and my pasta was very basic, not at all aldente and when i was served parmesan it was in very large thick hard shavings, the base was not a sauce but a watery thin tommato stock with maybe a bit of chilli in it for effort. When i eat out I expect food better than I cook at home. This would have been 3 points if not for the lunch offer. Surroundings and staff were excellent though, warm and friendly throughout. It does deserve a visit but the chef needs to try harder.
