Completely recommend this guest house. FANTASTIC on every level, we have been traveling for 2 weeks (6 to go) and this outshines every other place we have stayed. Wonderful and helpful owners, delicious food, clean rooms, large fluffy towels. A great value too. Don't miss New Lanark, UNESCO World Heritage Site, 20 minutes down the road.

I just want to start out by saying that the owners John and Marjorie are really wonderful people. John is the more outgoing of the two and will be sure to yak your ear off with good conversation.

Service: They went out of their way to make sure our stay was easy and pleasant. They recommended a place for us to get dinner after our arrival, provided us with directions to the airport in Glasgow, and served us breakfast early since we had an early flight. *****

Value: At £56 per night the accomodations were totally acceptable. Marjorie provides a very nice breakfast included.****

Sleep Quality: Comfy beds and no road noise. The doors for other rooms are a bit noisy but not a real problem. ****

Cleanliness: Spotless! The guest lounge is nice and the breakfast room is wonderful. The wallpaper is a little tattered and worn in the entry and stairs area and could stand a little TLC but it wasn't annoying. *****

Location: Out in the middle of nowhere. In a rural spot between newer suburban areas. It is fine if you have business in the surrounding areas or if you want to connect to the airport but don't desire to stay in Glasgow proper. I would highly recommend that you have a good knowledge of the area or use a satnav to find it because you could whip right by and never notice in the evening or at night (or worse: get lost like I did). ***

Rooms: Nice and clean and properly appointed. Good standard rooms. ***

I can only say that I would definately stay there again. The owners and their service is what makes them stand out from the crowd!

(PS: The location on the TripAdvisor map is incorrect by a couple of miles ... refer to the owners website.)

This is a 10-bedroomed guest house which has been expanded over the years by the very nice couple who run it. Spotless bedroom and bathroom, though the decor is a little dated and "frilly". Guest lounge with TV should you require it, or good digital TVs in the rooms. We were recommended to a nearby pub for dinner (Crown Inn, excellent value) and in the morning had an excellent breakfast, big helpings and beautifully cooked.
