“Delightful Yorkshire Barn Conversion *****”
Reviewed February 28, 2018 for a stay in January 2018

We had a wonderful long weekend celebrating a family birthday at Beacon View. The accommodation is superb; a beautiful barn conversion with all mod cons, comfy beds, luxury bathrooms, stunning sitting room with huge sofas and glorious views. Plenty of space for six adults. We were there in January so the log-burning stove and underfloor heating were most welcome; in fact I was slightly worried beforehand that it would be a little chilly, but quite the opposite – we were so warm and toasty inside. Well-equipped kitchen with everything you could possibly need – even two aprons!

Great hosts and good communication from the outset. I had ordered a supermarket delivery and Liz took delivery and had unpacked the groceries for us before we arrived – perfect! We really appreciated the cake and fizz Liz had left in the fridge for us too.

The barn is in a beautiful setting, though a car is a must. It’s well-placed for Whitby, Runswick Bay and the city of York – all well worth a visit. And of course there are fabulous walks literally on the doorstep.

Thanks Liz and Danny for a fabulous stay. We would love to return.
Highly recommended.

“Wow! Beautiful barn conversion in a stunning location!”
Reviewed October 30, 2017 for a stay in October 2017

Truly beautiful barn, spacious and impeccably clean. Even more lovely than the photos show! Everything was quality and well designed, and it is equipped with everything you might need and more.

The location was perfect for us- secluded with views which took my breath away every time we stepped outside. I can't imagine anything better than a BBQ and the children playing on the lawn against that backdrop in the summer!

Despite the cold weather we enjoyed lots of lovely walks (and even some runs!) from the doorstep. Nearby Runswick Bay was a hit with our boys and the local pubs with good food and ale a hit with my Dad.

Liz and Danny were very welcoming, our boys loved feeding the doves with them, and the cake and bubbly on arrival was a nice touch. They even put a few Halloween chocolates out for the boys.

As we came to leave we discovered our car battery was flat and Danny was really helpful and we were grateful of being able to stay warm in the barn whilst we waited for it to be fixed.

We've stayed in many quality places before and this sits top of the list. Thank you Liz and Danny, we hope to be back!

“Beautiful accommodation in superb location”
Reviewed January 13, 2017 for a stay in January 2017

We stayed at beacon view with elderly relatives and our Labrador. The barn was perfect for all our needs. It was great having a downstairs bedroom and ensuite for the older members. As a previous guest called it 'the dog room' or boot room was so useful as this time of year our walks involved a fair bit of mud. We have stayed in premier cottages before and found them always good and reliable.....this was the best. The location was just fantastic for walks costal and countryside, lovely dog friendly pubs.
The whole atmosphere of the place is really magical. I agree with all the other reviewers, Liz and Danny go the extra mile which makes such a difference. We hope to return

Thank you very much for that glowing report:-) I am so glad you found Beacon View to be just right for all your needs with elderly parents and Stan the Lab. Yes we have to agree that this is a stunning location with a huge amount of diversity in countryside between the coast, moors, forests and dales and very friendly village communities too. You've seen the winter here the other seasons are spectacular too. Danny and I do hope you will return. Happy New Year to you all. Liz

“Stunning barn conversion - perfect for a winter break.”
Reviewed December 30, 2016 for a stay in December 2016

We spent a week here and have already rebooked for next year! The barn is gorgeous - fabulous high ceiling in the sitting room, sumptuous bathrooms (the sound system plays in the upstairs bathroom!), luxurious beds and a spotlessly clean kitchen. There's an enormous dining table which was perfect for Christmas dinner and board games and the house has underfloor heating so it was cozy and warm the whole time.
We visited at Christmas and Liz and Danny decorated the cottage including a 20ft high Christmas tree - absolutely magical!
We took our mini dachshund - the house makes it very easy. There's a "dog room" (probably not called that but it's what we called it!) at the entrance where we could wash him in the huge sink after every walk and leave him to dry before letting him into the main house. There were even dog towels provided.
Walks round the area were stunning and you can walk straight from the house. Easy to reach the coast - places like Staithes well worth a visit.
We would wholeheartedly recommend Beacon View Barn Cottage.

“Outstanding barn conversion with beautiful views !!!”
Reviewed June 12, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Beacon View exceeded our expectations. Such a lovely place to stay in. It was very well equipped with everything you would need and more... One of our party was elderly with mobility problems, so we found the downstairs bedroom with ensuite ideal. The weather was kind to us and we spent a lot of the time sitting outside in the private garden, taking in the breathtaking views. The location is in a very secluded area so is very quiet and peaceful.
The owners Danny and Liz made us feel very welcome from the start ,and nothing was too much trouble for them. Would definitely recommend Beacon View if you want a 5 star property in a outstanding location.....
