“A nice place to stay in the UK”
Reviewed September 1, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We had a group of four including me and my husband, my daughter and my mother. We found the accommodations average for UK standards but pretty basic for US standards. We expected to have written instructions for the appliances as we have had with rentals in the US. The mattresses were small, thin and equivalent to a crib mattress (no comfort). The kitchen had basic cutlery, plates and cups. There were no seasonings, oils (everything stuck terribly to the pans as they are not coated), extra paper towels, etc. Also had no wash cloths, hand soap in bathrooms, or extra toilet paper which was expected. The washer/dryer was below par by being extremely small, inefficient and harsh on clothes. There was no grill to be found. Although spacious and clean according to UK standards, it was still a bit of a disappointment.

“Great Stay at Ellis Lodge”
Reviewed June 13, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We had a fantastic bank holiday stay in Ellis Lodge celebrating our friends 30th birthday. The lodge is only a short drive from Symonds Yat Rock. The lodge is modern and well looked after, we enjoyed using the wood burning stove on a chilly evening and even managed to get into the garden for a bbq.

We really enjoyed our stay, the lodge catered for all our needs. Kitchen / dining area was well set up and it was great to be so close to forest walks and attractions.

“Wonderful holiday home, right next to the forest!”
Reviewed January 15, 2014 for a stay in June 2013

We spent a week staying at Ellis Lodge last summer and it was more than perfect for us. As a party of 6, the 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms was just superb. It's very difficult finding such a good property which provides 3 bathrooms. A very immaculate and well designed house, there was plenty of room without getting on top of one another. Just across the road is a path leading you in to the forest and in the evening we would walk down and often see Deer roaming about.

It has a couple of pub/restaurants nearby and some takeaways if you'd prefer a night in. All in all a great week was had by all members. Myself and my boyfriend, his parents as well as his brother and his wife.

We are hoping to book Ellis Lodge again this summer and I am very much looking forward to it.

“Excellent accommodation and will visit again”
Reviewed August 22, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We arrived at the property and the keys were available as advised. On opening the door we were extremely pleased with what we found. Every room was clean and finished to a high standard with a few nice surprises from the log burner, the sky tv available in two rooms through to the bifold doors in the kitchen diner. The small touches were appreciated such as milk in the fridge, toilet rolls in the bathrooms and fresh coffee that lasted us the whole stay. Great location for us with small children with something to do in the not too far locality each day; would recommend Perrygrove for younger children, our six year old loved the miniature village and tree houses. Butterfly park and maze along with the crazy golf kept the children and mum and dad entertained. Would highly recommend and will definitely look to stay again and might even sneak away with some friends.
