We booked Chalet Anders just in time for Christmas having been sold the dream twinkly christmas in front of that so traditional open crackling log fire as sold to us by Neilson Holidays. It was THE most disappointing chalet we have ever stayed in. First of all NO log fire please, which they are still advertising as having, instead a concrete block with a gas fire within. The rooms were so small we had to take in turns to get dressed in the morning, due to lack of floor space, not to mention nowhere to actually put your clothes, our door slammed directly into another, so you had to knock before you could leave your room in the morning. The chalet completely lacked atmosphere, more resembling your local travel lodge, not exactly traditional swedish, unless of course that means a modern barrat home, with all due respects to Barratt, decked out in Ikea. There was not enough hot water for everyone to have a shower, NO Baths. Scandanavian doubles by the way mean two single beds pushed together.
Ski to door only if you are a cross country skier and resort itself is no where near the village of Vemdalen (6k) which by the way is approx £40 in a taxi.
If you are a beginner this is not a good resort as there is only one green run that does not start from the top of the resort. The resort itself is very small but pretty, ideally you need to be up to red run standards to enjoy.
In summary we were highly disappointed with Chalet Anders, and would not recommend it if you are looking for that traditional ski holiday.
