Hotel Sacacomie

I've traveled mainly for work in the past so I have standards in terms of features and price and overall quality. First thing, not worth the price. The location is beautiful but the features and quality of the rooms leaves a lot to be desired.

In intense heat and humidity, we realize there is no A/C in the room. The rooms are quaint but much too small for the price and the view wasn't that good either. Bad reception for the Wi-Fi (none in our room) so you are completely cut-off from the world (might be a good thing for some but not for me).

First of all thank you for your comments. We hope that during your stay you enjoyed our activities free of charge that we offer to our guests, such as hiking trails for over 65KM, access to the private and attendant service, indoor pool not mentioning all the equipments for water craft (canoe, kayak and pedal boat). Indeed we have a great summer season with fine temperature which does not facilitate sleep, especially during a couple of days with temperatures higher than usual. For Hotel Sacacomie protecting the natural environment is one of the priorities which begin with minimisation of energy consumption. As we don’t use A/C in our hotel rooms, fans in each room are used to cool the ambient air. As for the Wi-Fi, many clients as you say in your message, loves the idea of being cut-off from the world but we realized that it is important for clients like you, so we have wireless connection since a few months. Despite of hotel’s location in the woods, we have Wi-Fi network in the entire premises but unfortunately the network does not go up to some specific zones where certain rooms are located. It’s unfortunate that you did not mention it at the front desk as we offer maintenance service from 8 AM to 11h30 PM. Thank you very much for the feedback.

We only stayed here for one night, wich is not long enough to enjoy everything.
Rooms are good, beds are excellent!
The dinner was the best we had for the last 3 weeks.
Not very often you meet such nice servants and very good cooks in Canada! but here it all comes together. Wish we could stay some longer, but Montreal is waiting fot us.
We will tellall our friends oubout this beautiful spot!

Been there for a weekend, got a very good price (200$/pers./night, txs/service included: The Best Of Nature package) for a lake side room with balcony and whirlpool bath, 4-course evening diner, buffet breakfast and one day access to the GEOS Les Bains facilities.
The room was very clean, lot of space, quiet and all we needed.
Exceptional service everywhere. Restaurant/bistro offers good choices of meals. Breakfast, lunch and dinner: it was awesome. Beautiful hotel and location for landscape, lot of things to do in nature at any time of the year. Bar, TV, poolroom with babyfoot table and video games in the hotel.
Geos Spa is very nice and relaxing with view on the lake. Good facilities and location.
The Sacacomie Lake is good for activities in summer and swimming; very clean and clear water.
I would recommend it to anyone, it's a must-see resort!

Today I was looking into some old trips and bumped into our trip in 2002.
In september 2002 we spend 2 nights at this Hotel and must confess we never forgot about it.
We had a great suite, it was all pretty new at that time.
We had a big storm the first night and that made the room even cosier.
The Food was great and was included in our rate (2002 C$ 275 for suite number 231)
Second evening we were lucky enough to see the Northern Light very briefly.
Looking at the site again it still brings back great memories about the hikes we took around the lake.

I believe every hoteliers dream is to receive a feedback such as yours. We are very grateful to learn that even after 12 years your experience in our hotel is still memorable!!
So many things have changed for better since then. Every executive suite has been renovated last year and the most important change we made is our new spa, named GEOS Spa Sacacomie inaugurated in 2009. It’s a result of ecological and sustainable development project which we are proud to offer to our guests. Our Spa consists of 2 dry saunas beneath a grotto, one with a panoramic view and the other one that offers light therapy, a hammam with eucalyptus, 2 outdoor Jacuzzis with the view over the lake and one indoor, a cold water fall, everything connected with a heated platform in winter, a solarium with a fire place and a terrace, an ideal destination for guests looking for well-being and relaxation. Moreover we offer health care treatments a la carte and as packages as well.
The Sacacomie Lake is still clean and clear. We are trying to preserve as it is. We also have new summer and winter activities. Above all the beauty of the nature is all-present!
I invite you to visit our website. Hope our hotel will be on your list of the places you want to visit on your forecoming trip to Canada.
Many thanks for the feedback!

I've been to this Hotel 2 times. Over the past 2 years, employees has been in labor dispute so the hotel suffer from that. Last time i've been there (May 2011), the hotel shows visible sign of wear on the balcony (My friend's foot pass throught a plate on the 3rd floor balcony). Looks like the site maintenance is let to go since a few years. Site is wonderful but still in the middle of no where. Even if the lobby is amasing, rooms are quite (too) simple. No TV, weird disposition... Wood, Wood and only Wood. Room are due for a refreshment, particularly for the bathrooms.

What makes this hotel even less interesting is the OVERPRICED everything out there. Rooms are overpriced, activity at the hotel are overpriced and food is overpriced. Because of the labor dispute, waiters served the food at the gala with their jeans pants... a bit awkward.

Service was as basic as possible and it was kind of a big deal to get a dolly in order to bring my luggages at my room (room was FAR from the lobby).

I was disappointed on the overall value of this place.
Will not return.

We spend 5 days for Xmas

On the hotel itself : rooms are comfortable but there is no pleasant location inside the hotel to read , having a drink...

On the Food side, the A La Carte Menu is OK but the buffets are mediocre , and the Xmas one was very disappointing

The staff is nice and tries to make its best

On the activities side have in mind they are expensive but very well organized (pay attention however there is a very inefficient person at the Activity Desk inside the hotel)

During our roundtrip in Canada we also wanted to see and experience some of the nature this country has to offer. We did not have enough time to go away from the bigger cities in the Eastern part so this hotel was a perfect choice. It is located just a few hours drive from Montreal, but when you arrive you get the feeling that you are in the middle of nowhere. All around is forest and the hotel is overlooking a big lake.
The hotel is built in form of a very big block house and therefore fits perfectly in the environment. The lobby is not too big, but has a very nice atmosphere because of a big fireplace and some nice and comfortable armchairs. Besides you can access free internet there what is very useful because you have no signal anywhere in the hotel.
We had two rooms with lake view. The rooms were very spacious and had a balcony. Wood is the predominant material everywhere and although some furniture was quite old-fashioned it still fitted in the setting. Compared to the bed room the bathroom was rather small. But the beds were comfortable and everything was clean.
With the room we booked half board which proved to be a good choice because apart from the hotel's restaurant there is no possibility of eating. The food was good and until the very last minute of the meal times fresh food was replenished. However, I would have appreciated a bit more variety. It was also very nice closing the evening in the bar. They have an incredibly extensive cocktail list and offered also any other drink you expect. The staff is very nice and always available for a chat. As there is not a lot to do in the hotel during the evening the bar also offered parlor games which was very nice.
Obviously, the hotel and all activities offered were in line with the nature. So you could go hiking on one of the diverse trails, swimming in the lake or borrowing one of the boats/kayaks available free of charge to explore the lake. This was lots of fun and a great experience. Additionally the hotel is a great location just to relax for a while, go to the spa area, sit on the terrace and read, etc.
Furthermore, you could book additional excursions for an extra fee. We booked a tour where you observe bears and beavers and it is absolutely recommended. A guide drives you deeper into the forest and you can see the animals in there natural environment. Especially concerning the bears it might be that you need some patience, but it is absolutely worth waiting for some time. Meanwhile the guide explains you a lot about the animals and their habits which is absolutely informative.
All in all our stay there was a great experience. The hotel and the surrounding is a nice way to enjoy nature. We would return.
