there is little in the way of restaurants for miles around so this a refreshing break in real backwoods and outdoor country. it is a micro brewery, nice rustic décor, big terrace and an adequate menu. we took the trout roll( same idea as new England lobster roll) with fries and a salad, all very good.you are in trout lake country and st-alexis has an annual speckled trout festival.all in all a good place for a break and it's friendly service.

This place's forte lies with the beer and the enclosed brewery, and less so with the food. The addition of a restaurant seems more of an afterthought than a main focus, and this is somewhat noticable. The inner furbishings however is great showing lots of trapper heritage and taxidermy animals. While the staff was friendly, it was also quite slow and working inefficiently. A downside for us Dutchies is that the waitress spoke very little English, and without some basic French you'd have a hard time getting across... The food was decent, but not too spectacular. We didn't try any of the beers, which is more likely to be their strong point. In a place starved for good restaurants, the Microbrasserie is most likely still the best choice for Saint Alexis des Monts.

First, if you like beer, then this is for you, it's got its own micro-brewery offering at least 6 different beers (probably more, I didn't count them all).
If you're in the area and you need to eat, then you'll find something, but don't expect a gourmet dining experience. In fairness, I'm sure that's not what they set out to offer.
However, good extensive menu offering a very wide range at reasonable prices.
The decor is well conceived, lots of antiques and items from bygone days, much to my personal taste.
The micro-brewery is an économusée, offering receptions, workshops, visits and tastings.
Not in town long enough to check out competition, but I'd go back to 'Nouvelle France' if i needed to eat.

We didn't actually try the real draw (i.e., the beer) but sought out this restaurant because it is one of the few places in the area that also serves food between lunch and dinner. Service was cheerful and efficient, the menu had a diverse range of basic food options, and the food was alright. So nothing wrong with it - but neither was the place spectacular, and the food alone wouldn't be worth a detour.

Very nice place to meet friends for a good and home-made beer!
One thing that is unique is the decoration of this place!
