the only reason to stay in this hotel is the location. Former five star hotel that should be renovated:
rooms are large, a bit dull and should be refurbished; bath rooms are outdated. Beds are small, mattresses very hard. No breakfast buffet, but à la carte: too expensive and average quality of food. Staff is friendly, speaks well English (not obvious in Korea). Free internet. (PC in room), free parking in garage; fitness center. Next time, instead of staying in this pricey hotel, I'll rather stay in one of the numerous guest houses located in the hanok village itself

Room Tip: front rooms have view on the main road (traffic); back rooms have view on the hanok village but it i...

This hotel is probably the best choice if, like most tourists, you are here to visit the Hanok Village historical site. It is only about one block downhill from the hotel to the the village. One very nice feature is the fact that all rooms are equipped with a digital computer so that you can access Facebook, check email and the like. We fund the room to be clean and acceptable even though it did come with a can of bug spray. Our only gripe was that they do not have any rooms with two double beds, only rooms with one double bed and one single, a minor issue. One other fact to be aware of is that the breakfast is not included and the prices are over the top, $17.00 for a simple American breakfast. Better breakfasts can be found inside the Hanok village.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the Hanok village side.

A recent stay at the Jeonju Riviera Hotel while on business in that city was enjoyable. There are not many choices in this city in South Korea, and this hotel is one of the best. It is located in a newer section of the city. The room was comfortable. There were two beds in the room: one twin and one double. There was a desk with a computer included in the room which was a very nice touch. There were not enough hangars in the room and it took three hours to get more after asking for them. The can of bug spray in the room was not a welcome sight, although I didn't have to use it while there. The view out my window was of a lovely village down below and the entire city. The restaurant for breakfast was nice. The American breakfast each morning was very good: choice of juice, eggs, breakfast meat, toast with butter and jam, French fries and tea or coffee. The lobby is clean with lots of artificial flowers that are bright and cheerful.

Stayed in this hotel for one night due to a business meeting. Its located a bit outside in a nice green area close to an area with traditional houses.
The good points. Rooms are spacious, and you have a good view of the surrounds as there are no big highrisers blocking the view.
The hotel has a gym and a sauna, and they looked well kept.
The drawbacks. Said gym and sauna costs extra. For a price I can get the Lotte World in Seoul for, this did not add to any good impression. There was no kettle in the room to be found. instead, where the kettle or some high-priced bottles of whiskey would be stood a big red can of bug spray. There were no bathrobes, instead, you were greeted with a big empty space in the wardrobe, and a bag advising how to use the rope inside to do a bit of abseiling in case of emergency.
The minibar was overpriced - but no worries here, it also was completely empty. That did not stop the checkout clerk to ask me if I had anything from the minibar.
When I wanted to check email after arriving really late, I was told I had to come down to the business center. That really kills this hotel for future use.

The first warning should've been that they charged you for your stay before you even got your room key. The second should've been the can of bug killer on the mini-bar. To top it off, there was still a crushed bug stuck to the wall which apparently went unnoticed by the cleaning maids. Then when I decided to check out after 5 minutes in the room, they keep 20% for the same day cancellation. Do not stay at this hotel. You're better off sleeping in your car.

Stayed at this hotel to attend a wedding. The Core Riviera hotel is on the edge of the Hanok traditional village a fascinating area of small houses, museums and restaurants. This is the main reason why a traveler would normally visit Jeonju, the hotel is about 20 minutes walk from the main shopping area.. I was attending a wedding held at a temple in the village and in one of the hotel's function suites.

The room overlooked the Hanok village and was a standard international hotel room if a little dated in style and furnishings. the room was very comfortable and clean, it had the benefit of a PC and free internet access, there was no wifi access in the room.

The public rooms of the hotel were well decorated and there was a very nice bar on the 1st floor (2nd in Korean). The hotel is heavily used for conferences during the week and weddings at the weekend.

The room was part of a wedding deal which included a western style breakfast that was OK, not great but perfectly edible. Would have preferred the Korean version with more kinchi but this was not on offer to our party and the rest of the party were happy to escape more spicy food. The food at the wedding breakfast was also Western and must have been expensive but the execution was poor. However this would not stop me from staying there when if I visit Jeonju again

The Core Riviera is a very pleasant hotel, well located for anyone wishing to experience historical Jeonju.

The rooms are large by Korean standards and we actually had a PC with free internet access in the room.

The rooms overlook the Traditional Korean Village, a collection of shops and galleries where many of Korea's excellent traditional arts are on display. From there, it's an easy and pleasant walk to the city center.

The staff were very kind and while not everybody in the hotel speaks English, it was always possible to find someone that could help us.

We enjoyed the Core Riviera which we booked on Hotelwide.com and would definitely stay again if we're lucky enough to visit Korea in the future!
