“Nice place, good service, poor overpriced food.”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

The auberge is pretty and looks typically french and rustic. The lady is friendly and helpful although she does not speak or understand english and the menu is in french which was difficult to understand. The cheapest set menu is 13.80 and is three courses but the food is basic. The starter was a vegetable salad, the main a pork burger served with no bun, relish or sauce but just deep friend whole potatoes and a lettuce salad. There were no vegetables. For dessert was two scoops of ice cream or yoghurt. The ice cream was not homemade. For 16.80 one gets a 'charcuterie' starter which was just a slice of parma ham, a bit of pate and a few gherkins. The main was steak which was tough and flavourless and was served with the potatoes and salad. The whole main course was dripping in oil. The dessert was again the same as the 13.80 menu; ice cream. Overall it is a nice place but perhaps it is better in the height of summer than at the end of august. The food was basic and overpriced- Water cost 3.70 euro and 500ml of house wine was around 10 euro. This was not authentic french food we would have been better off going to the supermarket and getting some hot food for a fraction of the price. If you want authentic french food avoid this place and check menus carefully before you sit down to a meal.

“Do not miss this genuine experience!!”
Reviewed August 27, 2011

If you are after a taste of "la vieille France" this is a fantastic place to start! The proprietaire/owner Yolande is most charming and gives you a warm welcome the moment you arrive. The food is excellent, of a home-made simplicity and served with the most charming friendliness. The staff consists of one further friendly lady in addition to the owner Yolande. The food is served in a single dining room in the road-side timber framed small building. We seriously recommend it. It is the experience of a genuine French country side lunch, where simplicity and "l'accueil chaleureux" / the warm welcome will make you smile long after your visit.
