From the moment we were "meeted and greeted" straight upon arrival to the moment we had a "family Hug" (sob) on departure 7 days later we had a wonderful time ! The Studios are a real greek family run affair (via New York) with the brothers on bar and waiter duties, mum and Aunt providing lovely Greek cuisine and Dad ensuring the gardens are spotless and the pool is properly cleaned everyday. The rooms although basic are airy, spacious and cleaned everyday and the best we have encountered on several visits to Greece. The Family are always terrifically helpful and cheerful and you really get the feeling you are in "real" Greece. The lovely sandy beach is less than 5 minutes walk away and we actually enjoyed the occasional planes flying by as they came into land. We hired a car to explore this beautiful island and discovered a couple of "stunning" beaches within a ten minute drive. If you want a quiet, authentic Greek holiday this is the place for you. Our only minor gripe is that there are only a couple of Tavenas within walking distance for a evening meal.Overall with gorgeous sunsets,a nice location and great family run studios we highly recommend Solitris and hope to be back again next year.

While we did not stay in the hotel, we were invited by the owners to have dinner and drinks with them. The hotel is family run and has been a mainstay for a number of years. This location is operated first class. The restaurant, pool, bar, buildings - even the lawn and parking lot are cared for with pride. The food was very good and service was top notch. They offer free Wi-Fi as well. There are various kinds of units to meet different family dynamics (couples, kids, etc.). The location is awesome. They are only a few minutes walk to the beach. The hotel faces west so enjoying sunsets is a must. While we were there (more than once), we noticed there was a definite European mix of guest as the owners advertise in multiple countries. The rooms were booked up through the summer (rates are VERY reasonable) so if you decide to try this one, get your reservations early - you won't be disappointed!

Having returned from our 4th visit the Sotoris Studios are as good as ever.
It`s not only the great sunshine that gives out warmth but the family as well. Again a very genuine friendly feel given by all the family members ... and the new ones we met this year.
Proves that they have have all the right ingredients by the number of returning guests.
Still probably the best pool we have ever used.
Location is a great bonus with only 10 minutes max from the airport. Aircraft noise ... well it`s got a couple of `busy` days where there may well be 4/5 flighs during that day in peak season. Are they annoying ? .... not in the least ... beach lovers at Ammes Beach (short walk from the Sotoris) will testify to this. Great baech with good sand well used but plenty of space and sunbeds.
Hired a car not sure where to go ? ... then just ask one of the family they know morw about the Island than any book.
We have been to quite a few places on the Island and the when we tell the locals where we are staying the reply is good choice ... excellent choice ...well respected family.
Will we go back next year ...YES ... this place ticks all the boxes and more!

We (myself, my wife, and my Mum) recently returned from a two week stay at the Sotiris Studios, and in the main, it was very good. The apartments are spacious and very clean. They're a little basic, but not in a way that in any way detracts from the enjoyment of the place. The only slightly odd thing was that the "one bedroom" apartment was actually set out as two bedrooms, with no "lounge" area. This impacted a bit for us on the useability of the space, but wasn't a big deal.

The feel of the complex itself is really really nice. It has that very relaxed med feel, everyone is really friendly and helpful, and the whole place is immaculately kept without being "fussy". The weakest part of the set up (although still by no means bad) is the restaurant. The specials were superb, with the Stifado being as good as anything I've tasted on visits to half a dozen Greek Islands. But we found the quality of the rest of the menu to be very hit and miss, with some dishes not as good as similar things elsewhere.

Svoronata itself is in the main a quiet and pleasant place. The beach is a five minute walk from the apartments, with 3 or four good tavernas within a 10 minute walk (the Windmill was our personal favourite). There are also a couple of small shops nearby that will meet most everyday needs, and are run by very friendly people.

For all the above though, my wife and I probably wont go back for one reason and one reason only. The complex is literally no more than half a mile from the end of the runway of the airport, and the end of the beach is literally across the road from the airports perimeter fence . This isn't actually as big a deal as it sounds, as most days there were probably only 3 or 4 full blown airliners coming in and out, along with a few smaller planes (although there were a couple of slightly busier days each week). However, I found it quite irritating, and that would probably be enough to stop me going back even though our experience was otherwise very good.

However, that's just a personal opinion. My Mum is already talking about a return visit, as the aircraft noise didn't bother her at all. Other people staying at Sotiris said they actually enjoyed watching the small number of planes go in and out and saw it as a positive bonus, so people have very different views on whether the airport is an issue.

The airport issue aside, I thought that the Sotiris Studios were very good, and but for that would have no hesitation in returning to a very well run and friendly place.

Room Tip: Upper floor rooms have great views

I can only agree with the other reviews. Fantastic apartments run by a friendly family and staff which meant we got personal attention. Very clean with constant hot water. The pool bar was good for the last drinks before bed and the prices were on par with rest of resort. Position was great for beach and within walking distance of 3 other restaurants. Food at Sotiris was home made and of a high quality with a special dish each night. Would recommend to anyone who wanted a laid back holiday. You can hear the airplanes arriving but they didn't fly at night and they added to our visit. One of the best apartments we have stayed at on the Greek Islands

We've just returned from an amazing week at the Sotiris Studios. You receive a genuine warm welcome from the family and half of the people we met there have been coming time and time again, the proximity to Ammes Beach is great (lovely and sandy with shallow water) and the closeness to the airport adds, not detracts, to the location and its beauty. The grounds and pool area are lovingly maintained every evening and there was an abundance of available sunbeds, if hanging by the pool is your thing. The room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels every other day and sheet change once (may have been twice but it was so warm we slept on top of the sheets anyway!) The sunsets are spectacular and the few tavernas on the seafront are a perfect viewing point to take full advantage of this. The apartments are spacious with good self catering facilities and abundant hot water. The food available at the apartments was excellent and the daily specials are a must try (especially the Kefalonian Meat Pie!). There is a small shop on site for your essentials and fresh bread and fruit are delivered every morning. There is a larger mini market, less than 5 minutes away, that has all of the essentials you need. The closest tavernas are on the seafront and they offer an array of good value options and Ammes Restaurant (with the windmill outside) was particularly good for seafood of all descriptions. Overall the resort is small but perfectly formed and a great place to really kick back and relax, as well as being a great base to explore the rest of the island. Kefalonia is stunning and you will not be disappointed if you choose Sotiris Studios for your stay.
