Basically if you book through a UK site make sure it stipulates that air-con is included, cause we found ourselves in 40'C with no air-con and the excuse..."when we book through the net the price is to cheap so does not cover electricity used". And the tariff is 5 euros a day, even if you do not use it, you pay!!! And of course when we asked for receipt of these money we were denied one since it was not an actual service that the hotel was been paid for...but they got the monies.

The TV had an external antenna that was not working (for little one to watch cartoons), and despite mentioning it noone bothered to do anything.

The pool has no designated signs for depth, no safety precautions have been taken.

Yes it is a very nice area and a very basic hotel.

Ignore bad reviews - Stefanos Studios are lovely!

They are located at the very top of the airport road: take the Lassi road away from the teeny tiny mini market on the corner and you'll see a red 'Pizza' sign almost immediately on your left. Follow the little tree lined avenue down and hey presto!!

We arrived home last night after the most amazing, romantic, magical, peaceful holiday you can imagine!! We were treated so well by Stefano and the family, nothing was too much trouble. Upon arrival, at about nine thirty (pm) local time, we discovered that Olympic/HolidayGems hadn't sent Stefano any details of the booking but he was a star and invited us to settle in for the first night and he'd sort everything out in the morning. He'd chased up our booking before we were even awake and sorted everything out for us to stay.
Our room was dinky but served us well, it was clean, with a ceiling fan and air con, a good little fridge and two hob rings, a shower with decent pressure and a lovely balcony that caught afternoon and evening sun. We were ground floor but not fussed about a sea view as we were barely in it!!
We hired a quad from Rent-A-Bike, in Lassi. The price wasn't bad, £140 for four days. Considering how much we used it, we thought that was quite reasonable and, fuel wise, great value! The way they organise bike/car hire was good too - Stefano called him and he picked us up and took us to the shop in Lassi, it was, like everything else in Kefalonia, very easy going and chilled!!

It's true what everyone says about Stefano and George's pizzas...they really are the best on the island!! Advice - starve a little all day so you can manage a whole one - soo worth it!! His Tzatziki is also delish for pizza crust dunkin!!
The pool area is peaceful, the pool itself wasn't brutally cold, it was just right for the 40 degree heat we had!!

The apts really are out of the way but, for a gorgeous Greek dinner, try the Olive Press, just down the airport road from the mini market. It's traditional, friendly and the food is divine! The rosé she serves there is a sweet and easy wine, with the half litre carafe being good value!

Hiring transport is a must on the island, Melissani lake is staggeringly beautiful and soo worth the visit, get a good map though as we bimbled along the mountains with only a vague notion of our general direction!!
Ammes beach is quiet, pretty and only 5 euros a day for beds and brolly! Argostoli is bustling but worth a look, Lassi is a bit more tourist friendly and quite reasonably priced with some yummy little tavernas, Sami was gorgeous but expensive - oh, just go see for yourself, it's incredible and you won't ever want to leave!! I know we didn't!! x x x

Room Tip: It's not the Hilton: it's real and it's honest and just fantastic value with wonderful hosts x x x

These apartments state that they are in Svoronata, which is a lovely village with just a handful of tavernas, but in fact they are about 3 miles away. If you know Kefalonia, turn left at the top of the airport road and you will find the apartments just there, off the main road that takes you to Lassi. It's about 10 minutes walk from the airport itself. Even though it's so close to the airport, you can't actually see the airport / runway from the rooms, and the noise of the aircraft never disturbed us (they don't fly at night or anything), so I wouldn't let that put you off!

There is one very small supermarket within walking distance, but absolutely nothing else. The apartments themselves have a small taverna by the pool, which serves the best pizzas you will have ever tasted! If you don't hire a vehicle you might have to rely on regular pizzas!!

Although it was disappointing being out of the village, we had a car for the full holiday and were therefore able to get to tavernas etc. I would highly recommend that if you chose these apartments, you hire a vehicle because otherwise you will probably be limited to staying around the apartments for the whole holiday, as the bus service is not very regular. If you do hire something then the location of the apartments are great, really handy, with Svoronata 5 mins in one direction, Lassi about 10 mins in the other and Argostoli slightly further. There are loads of tavernas in Lassi and 2 very popular beaches, although the beaches near Stephanos are brill and a lot quieter (try Ammes, Minies and Avithos beaches).

Overall, I would recommend these apartments and not have a problem returning to them ourselves. The owners, Stephanos and George are lovely and extremely welcoming. The rooms were basic (aren't they all in Greece?) but very clean. There is a sea view from the upstairs rooms (not sure about groundfloor). The price we paid for our holiday was very reasonable and I would say that it was certainly value for money!

Hope this helps!

We booked these studios independantly, believing after reading their information that they are situated in Svoronata. The location sounded to be ideal with tavernas etc being in walking distance. The studios were actually not located in Svoronata at all but 3 miles away, not quite the 'walking distance' we imagined, this resulted in having to either drive or paying 10 euro each way for a taxi to Lassi or Svoronata for a meal of an evening.
The studios did have a nice pool area and snack bar, but unfortunately ,the owner's pizza delivery service seemed to take priority over the guests.
Would I recommend these studios, only if you want to be totally isolated
