The family spent a week here using our time share.

The good:
The place is isolated and with our room by the beach, the sound of the waves hitting the sand gave me a restful sleep.
The place didn't have a lot of guests. You do have a lot of privacy.
The water isn't deep so if you have small kids, it is great for water fun.
Jacuzzi and pool were nice.
Rooms were clean, nice and comfy.
If you are a Globe telecom user, signal is bad...a good excuse to leave work behind.

The Bad:
Food in their restaurant is HORRIBLE and pricey!
You are not allowed to bring food from outside. This policy is ok with me for as long as the food is good. We had to drive and look for a decent place to eat.
It is a seven hour drive from Manila.

Stayed 3 nights. 2 nights in a "Mansion Villa" room which is basically a regular hotel room. 1 night in a "Bahay Kubo" which is a detached unit on stilts. Value for money the "Bahay Kubo" is much preferred. Keep in mind during our stay rates were 50% off. Normal rates on a "Mansion Villa" room is $200+ & $300+ for a "Bahay Kubo".
Location is somewhat remote but easily reached. Clean beach. Clear water. Protected by a reef so can wade out 500 yards to the crashing surf.
Food is not stellar. I've lived & travelled in the Philippines for 8 years & stayed at everything from pricey 5 star resorts to pricey no star dumps. With few exceptions none have ever offered great food so to be honest I had no such expectation. The chicken Kiev was unedible. The pizza was "edible". The complimentary breakfasts were "edible". To be fair my Filipina girlfriend said the Filipino dishes were fine...& this place caters to Filipinos. Food & drink prices were reasonable so at least we weren't being gouged for experimenting.
A side note, no food/drinks are allowed to be brought in. The exceptions being water & potatoe chips. Corkage fees are the norm amongst the nearby resorts (though not the norm through out the Philippines).
Service & staff was exceptional. Very helpfull. Very flexible. Office staff does push their own packages on tours & sight seeing but we had a vehicle & did our own exploring (at substantial savings). Hundred Islands National Park is about an hours drive. Bolinao Falls 40 minutes. Close by are Enchanted Cave & Bolinao Lighthouse.
We checked out nearby resorts. None came anywhere close in cumfort or value. We would definately stay again in a "Bahay Kubo" suite when 50% off.

The resort is overpriced! They currently offered a 50% off on room rates if you are a walk-in customer. I purchased an overnight mansion villa thru their website and was planning to upgrade to another type of accommodation but they do not want to give their promo rates since they said that I purchased from their website! Ha?? Bedsheets and towels are very old!The room smells! Salt water in the faucet and shower! Definitely,Not worth the long 6hr trip!

Puerto Del Sol Beach Resort and Hotel Club in Bolinao Pangasinan is one the best resort in the area. I’ve stayed in the resort when we had a familiarization tour back in college. I really love the place since then, combining good accommodation, great food and service. It’s a perfect resort for those who want total relaxation while enjoying the beauty of nature.

I just have some comments for improvement, the television is not flat screen with only 2 cable channels, the HBO and Discovery Channel, there is no Wifi, you can access only at the lobby and in the restaurant but with weak internet connection, The toothbrushes are upon request, I think its kinda weird for it should be a basic amenity. There is no microwave oven and blow dryer. Since they also cater corporate events might as well put a business center. A decent gym also for those who want a quick workout.

I love the place it has good accommodation, great food and service, magnificent beachfront and its near local attractions such as Cape Bolinao Light House, Enchanted Cave, Patar White Beach and Rock Formations.

I will definitely stay again at Puerto Del Sol! :D
