We stayed here to break a car journey between Rotoroua and Wellington. I was travelling with my ageing mother and my two kids, so wanted to split the trip into two half days. I called ahead and explained my requirement for three separate sleeping areas. The Motelier couldn't have been more pleasant, understanding or helpful. When we arrived in the early evening, he was on hand to show us to the room, and provide us with a couple of beers and bags of crisps. Everything we needed for a stopover was there - including coffee, tea, milk, cereal, bread, butter, jam, etc - and there was even a big jug of fruit squash in the fridge. The Motelier then provided us with the loan of a dvd for the kids to watch in the evening, and gave us directions to the local swimming pool, and to places to eat. The 'room' consisted of a shower room, toilet, two bedrooms and a living space, which included the kitchen area and a sitting area with a sofabed. It was perfectly clean and tidy, if not hugely modern. We only stayed one night, and to be honest Taihape itself is a 'pass-through' kind of town, so I'm not sure I'd ever want to stay more than one night. But, I would definitely stay there again!
