My wife and I decided to take a short break in South Devon and selected Kerrington because of the good tripadvisor reviews and its excellent location being about 20 miles form Exmouth to the west and c 30 miles to Weymouth to the east with a great selection of seaside towns in between. We were not disappointed as the room was large, as was the bathroom, well furnished and comfortable. Fiona was very friendly and helpful and even offered to carry our bags to our room but being an old fashioned sort of guy i declined with thanks! At breakfast the first morning we asked Fiona not to make up our beds with the duvet etc. as it was so hot we preferred to sleep under the sheets we had brought with us. However on returning to the room later in the evening we found crisp white sheets on our beds - a nice touch. There was even a cooling fan in the room which was appreciated. Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of "starters" followed by a well presented cooked breakfast. Only two relatively small things stopped me awarding a 5* rating. Firstly a little woodwork could do with a coat of paint and secondly the shower was of the cloud or rainfall type which meant that it was not adjustable but these imperfections pale into insignificance compared with our overall experience.

We stopped here for a couple of nights and glad that we did. The place was clean and spacious with interesting decorations. Well looked after. Breakfast was lovely , well cooked and a good choice. And the hosts were hard working and very friendly. Definitely go again.

Lovely, warm friendly greeting and throughout our stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Very good breakfast selection, great veiw from the room which had plenty of space. 5 min walk into town and a very helpful guide was supplied in the room to help with navigation.
Will love to stay here again!

Quite simply one of the best b&b's we've had the pleasure staying in. Absolutely spotless rooms. Fantastic breakfast. Good location.Axminster can be a little dull but we had an excellent meal at the River Cottage restaurant. Thank you to the landlady.

We decided on a very last minute visit to Axminster to try the HFW's canteen so contacted Fiona on the morning of our arrival, booking completed without any fuss and an email to confirm or reservation with directions was sent within minutes which was great service. Arrived to a very warm welcome and shown to our room, number 5 - Holyhock which was absolutely delightful, tastefully decorated in period style and with every little extra you can imagine in line with the high ViistEngland grading achieved, not easy I assure you, we are also in the tourism industry and understand the work involved. The bathroom was also a delight with lovely fittings and a shower with plenty of hot water all at a decent pressure, so important for us!
Location is ideal for the town centre, just a 10 minute stroll, got our bearings and came back to sit in the lovely garden to enjoy the sunshine and refresh ourselves with a cold lager from the honesty bar, which has something for every taste!
After a lovely meal at the canteen had a great nights sleep and enjoyed a super breakfast with a great choice which as stated by another reviewer sets you up perfectly for the day. Would not hesitate to book again.

Room Tip: Sure they will all be of similar high standard.

This was our second stay in the last 4 years and remains an excellent all round B&B. Our original stay was just when the current owners had taken over and we can see now what excellent changes they are making. It resides in an excellent location away from the hustle and bustle of the coastal resorts, no parking problems here, but within easy access to them and the surrounding area. Rooms and Breakfast of a very high standard, will be returning again.

Like another reviewer we were booked into Leigh House where we'd previously stayed but were recommended to try Kerrington House instead; we've now just returned after 4 nights stay and were very impressed with the whole experience. The owner, Fiona, could not have been more welcoming or helpful and the standards of the room, the breakfast and the house in general were some of the highest we'd experienced anywhere.
The decor and comfort of the room were both high, the extensive breakfast menu (which includes smoked salmon or haddock) was excellent and the portions generous; we certainly didn't need much for lunch after this start to the day!
We'd be happy to recommend Kerrington House to anyone and wish Fiona and Chris every success in the future. We look forward to our next visit!
