The owner is an absolute buffoon and thinks it is cool to treat guests as if they are uncultured. Neither the owner or his other half have any manners. A horrendous experience

The whole atmosphere is so unpretentious,so unlike some of the places we ate at while in South Africe, and Stefan,in spite of his reputation, was absolutely great -he even showed us into the "inner sanctum" of his fish storage room! The waitress/front of house/maitre'd/sommelier-call her what you will!-her name was Magnya-or something like that!-was great and so friendly.

We have eaten here many times and Stephan's steak never fails to impress the taste buds. He and his wife Jacqui make the restaurant feel like a visit to their home - just don't try to tell Stephan how you want your steak cooked!

.......and the food at Hook Line and Sinker. If you are in Pringle Bay you should book a table here. We were there on a steak and wild prawn evening but I understand the fish and chips are something to be tried.

What a find! Booking is essential (as is confirmation the day before), but this is well worth the trouble. The simple surounds, with only one sitting per evening, augment the experience. Our hosts were jovial, friendly and full of banter - none of which distracted from their core purpose of offering an increible gastronomic experience. After delicious soup, our table of six shared freshly caught and cooked kingkilp, salmon, prawns and calamari - all cooked to perfection. My taste buds simply danced a jig at the incredible range of lavours that we were served! The limited choice was in no way a disappointment, and the whole experience is one which we will definitely want to repeat.
