“Great weekend break”
Reviewed March 31, 2014

We stayed for 3 nights at this lovely holiday park in a gold caravan. The accommodation was very clean, comfortable and had all of the amenities you would need. My young daughter loved the play areas and I enjoyed taking her for a walk round the site to see what wildlife we could find. We happily watched birds at the feeders outside the caravan and rabbits and wood pigeons were regular visitors. We would happily stay here again.

We are just in our last night of a 7 night stay at Kippford Holiday Park and we will be very sad to leave, The park is stunning with wildlife all around, We booked the Gold caravan which totally exceeded our expectations, everything you could possibly need for a relaxing week away, (only downside is the 19" tv is a bit on the small side) the kingsize bed was just a dream. staff very friendly and they where more than happy to let us check in 2 hours early!
The park is only a short walk from Dalbeattie Forrest which is a beautiful Forrest, you can walk round for hours and still want more! We are glad we came here and we will return in the future. Thanks to all at Kippford!

We stopped in February 2014 for a week it was very wet and very windy but the staff/groundsmen made sure everything was kept safe and correct even down to candles being available in case of a power cut
the chalet we stayed in was extremely clean and warm, even with 70 mph winds outside, lots of brochures advising things to see and do were in the the chalet, a very nice little touch was the milk waiting for us in the fridge along with tea and coffee very thoughtful

Booked a Boston VIP lodge with hot tub. The lodge was perfect and came with everything you'd need for a self catered holiday. The lodge was well located so you weren't looking into other peoples lodges.
The decking and hot tub area were immaculate and well laid out.
The inside of the lodge was spotlessly clean and the rooms were really spacious. Each bedroom had a walk in wardrobe??? Lol.
Kippford is a sleepy little fishing village with not much going on but loads of nice walks. There is a shop just over a mile away that has a decent selection but we did a proper shop in dumfries before we came through.
The main reason for our visit was to propose to my girlfriend and the setting was perfect and she said yes!!!!
Would thoroughly recommend the lodges and will be back again.

I have stayed here before in caravans but this was my first time in a lodge and we had a brilliant time. When we arrived reception staff were very helpful and we were given leaflets to give us ideas of what we could see and do. More information in booklets in the lodge. Lodge was lovely and warm so good heating. We had a walk to the mariner and anchor pubs at the night time this is a nice walk but the road can be dark when the nights draw in so definitely take a torch! Very pretty walk by the boats on the solway too in kippford. We had a car so went driving out and visited some Historic Scotland properties. Some abbeys and castles were closed in October to the public but we found some to go and see. We went to the town of Moffat and saw the Grey mares tail waterfall not too far from there, definitely worth a visit, beautiful! On the evenings we were in our lodge hot tub. This was brilliant, the skies are so dark could see every star! Surrounded by the sounds of the wildlife. Lots of rabbits and red squirrels this time of year, and saw a badger. Lots of shops in nearby towns of Dalbeattie and Castle Douglas and Dumfries is not far away. Will definitely be back.
