This is a lovely spot to spend a week in this area. It gave us access to some great beaches in the area within easy driving distance. Our casita was clean, nicely decorated with some recent upgrades and had everything we needed, including a hair blower and a laundry basket. The common pool area was great . Overall, very quiet and a safe location. Linda and Russ were great hosts.

I doubt that you'll find better accommodation at this price elsewhere in Panama. Modern, clean, well-designed and equipped, beautifully maintained grounds, great pool, with friendly, welcoming hosts who work hard to make sure you enjoy your stay, or deal with whatever issues may arise. Good reliable internet too, for streaming Netflix, etc, to pass the time after dark. Only disadvantage, in our opinion, is that it's not easily walkable to the beaches, so you might want a car to take advantage of all the surrounding sights and amenities (albeit, the place is so nice we were mostly content to stay put and relax by the pool). But there are frequent, inexpensive buses if you're comfortable with public transportation. We took a bus into Panama City, about 90 minutes, for about $6 roundtrip each, which wasn't too demanding. Taxis are easy to find, as well. All things considered, we'd stay here again, if and when we return to Panama to do and see the many intriguing things we didn't get around to the first time.

“Our second stay here -- Great choice for Panama's Gold Coast”

Instead of staying in a high-rise vacation rental, I recommend Paradise-in-Panama which is small and personalized -- and it WILL be clean. (The high-rise units are hit-or-miss relative to cleanliness and how well stocked they are.)

There are two new small beautiful casitas; soon there will also be a loft and a suite. With so few guests, you can expect personalized service and attention. The pool is large and lovely. We stayed here for two weeks in December and had the pool to ourselves every day during the first 1.5 weeks. We returned in June and haven't seen anyone else in the pool.

The trees are full of mangoes and coconuts to which you may help yourself. There are butterflies, geckos and parrots.

Being new, the casitas are very clean. They are well designed and well stocked. Russ & Linda give you all the privacy in the world but are always available to answer questions, hook you up with contacts, provide directions, make recommendations.

Walk to restaurants and beach, or take a cab or -- for the full Panamanian experience -- hop on a bus.

This property was recommended to me, while I was travelling in mid February, staying in Pedasi and looking for a property in the Coronado area. After contacting Linda and Russ and set up appt to view, I fell in love with the place.

Once you enter the gates, it's a paradise. From my patio, I enjoyed the garden with mature trees and shrubs, which surrounded the pool, fashionably furnished to meet all guests needs. You awake each morning to the sound of various birds, almost as if it was something, pre recorded each day.

The Casidas are new and boasts quality throughout. I never felt like I was in a vacation rental property. No water restrictions on this property. Having travelled extensively in Panama, this is something that one must keep in mind when booking. You can shower anytime time you wish.

It's a 5 min drive or a 20 minute walk to the beach. There you can walk for miles. Some days I was the only person on the beach.

There are a couple of small stores within walking distance, that you could pick up just about anything, one would need. The larger grocery stores are about 10 minutes away, which would cost approx 4-6 dollars by cab. Always negotiate with driver, before you get in. The bus is also an option to get around. Very inexpensive.

Both Linda and Russ are knowledgeable about the area and very helpful in answering any questions that one may need answers to.

In closing, the property worked well for me. I spent 3 mths there and enjoyed it immensely. Have already booked for next season

“Perfect ..... Paradise in Panama!!”

My husband and I spent 5 glorious weeks from March through early April 2016 in Gorgona. We are newly retired Canadians and we think we were just plain lucky to have found Linda and Russ and their perfect little oasis aptly named ‘Paradise in Panama’.
There are two perfectly appointed casitas on the property. The pool has a covered patio at one end and a colourful garden at the other. The casitas are not only modern, roomy and spotless but, without being cluttered, each is equipped with everything that you could possibly want or need. Linda has an eye for detail!! We stayed for a few nights in one casita and then moved to the second one with adjoining patio furniture and barbecue. Anyone can use the second barbecue and lounge furniture at the one covered end of the pool so there is no need to worry if you are not staying at the casita with the bbq! There’s a handy laundry room with washer and dryer situated only a few metres away from the casitas. The grounds are amazing with numerous palms, flowering hedges, mango, lime and avocado trees. We would have never known that Panama was in the midst of a drought except for watching Russ’s relentless efforts to keep foliage and grass alive and green for the guests.
But enough said about the accommodations! The casitas are extremely comfortable but it is Linda and Russ’s warmth and hospitality that made us feel completely at home. While the Hunts live on the property, we never felt that privacy was an issue... probably quite the opposite. We always welcomed seeing them throughout their busy days to ask the odd question, get directions or simply have a chat. Linda and Russ were genuinely interested in making our stay the best. There is enough lush foliage to keep each cottage private from each other. And there were many days when we were the only ones at the pool!
Not only is Paradise in Panama a wonderful restive and reclusive spot, it is also a perfect location to use as a home base to investigate neighbouring towns, venture out into the mountains or head into Panama City for a day or two. Transit is easy and inexpensive whether you are using the bus or taxi. We used both. If you’ld like the use of a rental car (as we did), Linda will happily give you the name of her contact, who has the best rates. The four grocery stores in neighbouring Coronado, 10 minutes away, have absolutely everything that you could possibly want. Mini Supers are just a short walk away and carry many essentials. There’s a good selection of local, casual restaurants for eating out; Picassos, La Ruina, Pantay, Cholo’s, Caracoles, to name a few. We got our fresh fish right off the boats in the bay on the beach, the beach being a short 10 minute drive. It’s walkable but it’s a hot walk! Fresh oysters were shucked before our eyes from the rocks at low tide by locals …. Yum! Gorgona is a community comprising of a mix of vacationers, expats, locals and vacationing Panamanians . We looked at other beachy areas during our stay and once there, knew that Gorgona held the right this mix for us. It is not highly developed with high rise buildings. We see little point in being transplanted from one heavily populated North American environment to another simply because there’s sun and a beach. We like the variation and the local feeling in Gorgona!
Can’t wait to return!! Probably also worth considering seasons when there are sea turtles nesting and lots of whale action!

“Amazing Stay”

Let me start by saying that we LOVED our stay.

The casita was perfect and our hosts were fabulous. The casita is new, amazingly organized and perfect in every way. It has everything you need and more. We were thrilled to see that Linda had equipped the kitchen with not just the basics but little things like having a blender to make shakes and a top of the line BBQ was an added bonus.

The pool area was dreamy. As I floated around the pool and saw it surrounded with palm trees, parrots flying over head and humming birds zooming by, I felt like we had our own little oasis.

Most of all, we cannot say enough about Linda and Russ. They truly made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. They are amazing people and great at managing their casitas.

Whether you are looking for a relaxing retreat, a home base to explore the area or considering this area as a potential retirement location, we highly recommend it.

We have travelled the world and never felt so much at home. The Owners Russ and Linda quickly became friends. Hospitable, friendly, helpful, attentive, caring, like family. The casita was immaculate, the grounds very well kept, and the crystal clear pool like an exclusive resort spa. Have already recommended the casita to friends. Would definitely go back. Our two months went so quickly. We hope to keep in touch.
