Miss it and you miss out. This gem of a restaurant in the heart of Napier really is something to write home about. Freshly made ingredients from Friday evening tapas to Wed evening pasta from scratch and pizza bases topped with the most delicious combination of creative ingredients makes Wild Thyme really stand out. Having frequented restaurants around the globe, few make me want to buy shares. Karen and Teresa can be seen busily baking muffins, chocolate brownies and preparing for the next influx of fans. Saturday mornings mean a small Italian village atmosphere of locals and visitors, the morning paper, discussing world affairs and connecting over gastronomic delights. Winter trading hours (from end May) on Saturdays only, for breakfast lunch and dinner, I would say make hay while the sun shines and take your taste buds on a trip of a lifetime. The service matches the quality of the food, which is made with love. This beautifully decorated, cozy, classy and welcoming place is a home from home, a place where food connects people and their stories. Occasional theme evenings like the Indian cuisine event on the 17th May, mean booking is essential. Not licensed, you may take your own alcohol.
