Miss it and you miss out. This gem of a restaurant in the heart of Napier really is something to write home about. Freshly made ingredients from Friday evening tapas to Wed evening pasta from scratch and pizza bases topped with the most delicious combination of creative ingredients makes Wild Thyme really stand out. Having frequented restaurants around the globe, few make me want to buy shares. Karen and Teresa can be seen busily baking muffins, chocolate brownies and preparing for the next influx of fans. Saturday mornings mean a small Italian village atmosphere of locals and visitors, the morning paper, discussing world affairs and connecting over gastronomic delights. Winter trading hours (from end May) on Saturdays only, for breakfast lunch and dinner, I would say make hay while the sun shines and take your taste buds on a trip of a lifetime. The service matches the quality of the food, which is made with love. This beautifully decorated, cozy, classy and welcoming place is a home from home, a place where food connects people and their stories. Occasional theme evenings like the Indian cuisine event on the 17th May, mean booking is essential. Not licensed, you may take your own alcohol.

We visited in April and on a fairly cold night. We decided to stay indoors and barely warmed up in doing so. The restaurant itself does not do justice to the food, which in fairness to the kitchen was very nice indeed. The breads were also very nice. The furnishing were more cafe than restaurant and not intimate if that's what you were after. The menu was very limited and I think does not do justice to the chefs, with 6 veggie tapas and another six or so non veggie choices. The restaurant doesn't have a licence to serve alcohol but you have the option of taking your own. Competitively priced and I think likely to be a favourite place for the locals.

Due to the nature of business in such a small town, we have to keep our menu selection small to ensure freshness and profitability. As for the comment on the feel the restaurant the cafe feel is exactly what we are striving for. Thank you for your feedback

Quaint and Charming Overberg Restaurant. Karen and Teresa know food and it shows in their constant changing menu and execution thereof. Love the tapas style dining, amazing breads, cakes and their crumpet and crispy bacon breakfast . A must visit if in the charming town of Napier.

Regulars in Napier, we were thrilled when the Good Food Deli "girls" re-opened as Wild Thyme. Teresa & Karen whip up the best breakfast and lunch treats while Cobus masters front of house and the coffee machine. We love the crumpets & bacon breakfast! And the tapas lunch and dinner meals are just outstanding. There is a wonderful outdoor area just off the kitchen for a lazy start to a weekend morning.
