We had a delightful lunch at Reneessance on our way back from a day trip to Cape Agulhas. I had spotted the location on the way in and decided that it would make a great place for lunch. We arrived late but were warmly welcome. We were told that the restaurant was actually closing the following day to expand the kitchen and as a result not all dishes on the menu were available. In actual terms, there was no starters available and only one main course (the slow cooked pork belly) was still left. The same would applied to the desserts. As the saying goes, beggars cannot be choosers, we went for whatever was left on the menu. And we were not disappointed, the food of the of the highest standards. We were served some hot, home made focaccia which was delicious, the pork worked up to its promise and it was washed down with a superb white wine from the comprehensive wine list. The decor is very pleasant and it was warm and sunny enough for us to eat on the outside verandah. Renee herself came to say hello and had a friendly chat with us for a while. It is extremly good value for money and I would sincerely recommend this place which oozes charm, offer excellent home made mediterranean influenced cuisine under the pleasant supervision of Renee herself. Well done and good luck to her and her team for the future.
