Wetherspoons have a "formula" for all their pubs and this one is no different, just a lot bigger than most. Our visit was mid afternoon and the restaurant area was full of folk enjoying their Christmas menu so we found a table in the bar area and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. There wasn't a problem getting served and the food was what you expect from Weatherspoons, but I think the steak and kidney pudding may have been in the microwave too long, very hot! There's a car park at either side of the pub but this gets full especially during holiday times when the large patio area at the front is very popular. Clean facilities and disabled access. Worth a visit on the way back from a day at Southend and cheaper than pubs on the sea-front.
