If you are staying in Vale Do Lobo, you will inevitably go to the Praca, there's a great atmosphere there and it's full of families enjoying themselves.
As it's 'on resort' it's a bit of a captive market in the Praca eating out is relatively expensive compared to going out in Almancil. However Amore is one of the less expensive restaurants in the Praca, it's essentially an Italian menu and I would say is good value for money. The food portion sizes are excellent and the quality of the food is good. We often skipped a starter simply because a starter and a main was just too much food.
The restaurant is family friendly with a good children's menu and the staff are really good, efficient and friendly. It's a very busy restaurant but the staff were always quick and the food delivered promptly, there is also no rush to leave your table, in fact I often had to ask for the bill a couple of times.
The restaurant is in the best location to take in the atmosphere in the Praca. If you want romantic and beach front (and expensive) you'll want to eat in one of the other restaurants there.
Tip - make sure you book a table if you want to eat between 7.30 and 9.30pm in the high season. You can book same day.
