“Best outdoor catering in Northumberland”
Reviewed June 27, 2014

We visit Pipers Pitch on every visit to Craster having been to Northumberland 7 times in 3 years. Andy and Lorna who run the "Pitch" are extremely welcoming and have loads of local knowledge.
The food is excellent. Always cooked fresh to order with no pre warmed rubbish. The Auchtermuchty's are to die for and are a "must" for us on every visit. We only eat a light breakfast when going as the "Auchters" set us up for the day before setting off on our coastal walks. The Craster Kipper in a bun are also very good and well worth trying.
Get Andy talking on photography or his Bagpipes and you'll drink lots of tea listening to him. A real character with lots of stories.
A visit to Craster would not be the same without the "Pitch" being there.

“Sandwich Bar with a difference”
Reviewed June 27, 2014

Piper's Pitch is a little gem sandwich bar located adjacent to the Tourist Information centre at Craster Car Park. If after an invigorating walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle you would like something different than the usual sandwich lunch, try a Craster kipper in a bun or an Auchtermuchty Special (Haggis and Bacon roll) with a mug of tea at Piper's Pitch. Not expensive, very tasty and cheerfully served. Can't wait to go back.

“Give it a go!”
Reviewed June 25, 2014

A warm welcome, excellent tea in a proper mug (and very reasonably priced at £1) as well as good food served by very helpful staff. Craster is a small seaside village and other venues are very pricey for what you get and very busy. Although this is served from a van in the car park we much preferred it. There are tables and chairs set out and although there isn't exactly a view it is pleasant to sit there when the sun is shining! Freshly cooked for you, the kipper sandwich and haggis and bacon roll were great. We will definitely be back!
