This pub/restaurant is the hub of the local community for very good reasons. Rarely will you see owners working as hard as these guys to make sure everything is exactly as you'd expect. They even reopened their kitchens late in the evening, well past their usual hours to accommodate three hungry travellers. Nothing is too much trouble for these guys. This is typical of the region of course, but these guys really go that extra mile to look after you and the craic in the bar is legendary. I hear they're now doing rooms too, so don't drive past this place.

We stopped at Burke's en route to Westport for the weekend. Due to circumstances beyond my control (ok, ok, simple procrastination) we didn't have lodging reservations in Westport and to make things worse our phone decided to stop working! Tomas came to our table and greatly assisted us by making several phone calls to B and B's in the Westport area. He spent at least 1/2 hour on this task. His friendliness, sense of humor and perserverence was simply great. We got a place outside of Westport that was a great find and we regard Tomas as a new friend. Oh yes, the food we quite good and the staff as pleasant and helpful as Tomas. The restaurant has a very comfortable feeling and is in a beutuful location with a view out the back. All in all, we highly recommend this restaurant.

Fine old Irish welcome awaits visitors to this hostelry, located in the lovely and lively little town of Clonbur, near Lough Corrib and Lough Mask. Great family run bar with plenty of good natured banter, beer and fab food. We have been visiting for years. Arrive as a customer, leave as a friend. You will be looked after here. We know it so well over the years yet still a treat. Do not miss it.

Holiday with my brother went here most days for lunch great portions and service fab would highly recommend.

This was our first place we stopped on our first day in Ireland and after being up for 36 hours straight & the drive (YIKES). We were ready for a pint (Our first Guinness in Ireland) and a good meal (airplane food sucks). Could not have been treated better and the welcome was so warm and friendly...First time there Paddy was the bartender - great...another guest/customer/regular (as we found out)...he was funny & very talkative. The food was very, very good...I had the chicken, bacon, onion & cheese sandwich - loved it...husband had the fish & chips...he loved it. SInce we were staying so close we ended up there many times over the next 2 weeks & had great conversations with Tomas about the area & where to go - all great advice & he seemed very interested in where we were that day. PLUS we found out he had been to Chicago and we knew the same People - Vaughans - They Say HI to you...

More on the food - the Bacon Mash was my absolute favorite thing I had in Ireland...LOVED, LOVED it...the parsley gravy so yummy & the to huge slices of bacon oh my I was in heaven...Mike had the lamb dinner...it smelled and tasted amazing. All around this is a great place. We hope to come back to Ireland one day & we will definitely come back here.
