This hotel was booked based on reviews read here on tripadvisor. Unfortunately I would say that we wish we had taken our money elsewhere on the island. Booked as part of our honeymoon there was an air about this hotel that is somewhat unsavoury and a stuffyness is unjustified. This hotel does not offer first class facilities as they are trying to cut corners where ever possible.

Considering the hotel is a beach resort there was no beach bag; plastic bags are on offer should you need to take your belongings to the pools.

Toiletries that you would expect from a resort of this type/price missing basic elements such as ear buds. The shower gel and shampoo were actually the same.

Room 12 is clean but starting to show signs of ageing.

Many hotels offer unlimited complementary water but here you are limited to two small bottles per day.

Menu is very westernised, it would have been nice to have had more local options to choose from. Given the price of food there is better to be found elsewhere on the island. It would be good to have had the opportunity to have in-room dining.

The hotel has tried to be considerate to the environment with their use of energy efficient lighting but has chosen to over zealously illuminate over trees around the resort from the ground which while looks nice contributes to light pollution. On an island where it is still possible to see the stars, consideration should be given to downward lighting. Light shone into the air is wasted energy and contributes to light pollution. The use of LED and Tungsten within the rooms does not work and is not flattering.

While some of the staff were happy and courteous others were brash

Overall an OK hotel missing the small detail that would justify it's high price.

After 10 days exploring the hectic island of Bali, it was so lovely to arrive on the quiet island of Nusa Lembongan and the relaxing Batu Kerang Resort. I'm not usually a resort type, but the beautiful room, grounds, food and friendly staff made our stay so enjoyable. There's so much to do on the island - surfing, snorkeling, riding, swimming and exploring villages - and Batu Kerang is a great place to come back to at the end of the day to relax at the pool bar or enjoy the amazing view from your own balcony and outdoor bath. It's not the cheapest place to stay (in fact, it's probably the most expensive on the island) but great value from Australian standards and from the time you arrive on the beach to the time you depart you are looked after and warmly welcomed. Restaurant is great, and the included breakfast is one of the best I've ever had. Great spot for families with young kids and couples alike.

Room Tip: The one room villas are fantastic.

Our recent stay at Batu Karang was our third stay at this wonderful resort & destination, the smiling attentive staff combined with clean first class facilities where the toughest decisions are whether to lounge around one of the 3 pools, get pampered in the day spa or just sit with a cold Bintang enjoying the spectacular views, these are just a few of the reasons we keep coming back to a special piece of paradise.

What can I say except we fell in love with Batu Karang, the people and the island of Nusa Lembongan.
Australians own this hotel and they have developed a low key yet luxurious resort where you feel pampered and relaxed.
We went for a visit in 2010 for a friend's 30th birthday and loved it so much we booked our wedding and reception there and then for the following year.
Not only was everything perfect all our friends and family had a holiday with us.
No other words except 'PERFECT'.
This place is a must see and stay.
